I am pacing around, having crazy dreams and can't focus on anything until I get my decision letter for Nursing School. The decision date is 1/15/07 but just realized that it is a Holiday so there will be no mail. Was hoping, it would come today but NO... I don't know if I should contact the school on Monday to see if anyone could let me know, or just wait and see. The thought of having to wait another couple of days is killing me.

My GPA is good 3.7, My NLN was good, 137 compositie score and 97th percentile. My meeting interview went great but still can't relax until I know for sure. How do you get through this anxiety? The closer it is getting, the harder it is.

Need advice on how to handle this without losing my mind. :uhoh3:

I know exactly how you feel. I was waiting for my letter and deep down I knew I'd get in...but then hearing some other stories made me worry that maybe I was wrong. I hated waiting. It is such an exciting time to see if all of the hard work paid off. No matter how hard you try there is not much that will take your mind off of it, but it will be here before you know it!! I hope you get the news you are looking for!! Keep us posted.

I know exactly how yu feel, but I have to wait for another month. Do you know, does everyone get an interview?

I know EXACTLY how you feel too. The school that I applied to, the decision date is also the 15th, which of course there is no mail. So I've been obsessively checking my mail just on the off chance that they decided to mail them out a bit early, but of course not. So it looks like we will be finding out hopefully Thursday or Friday. We'll just have to hang in there, but the wait is unbearable, I know!!! I thought about calling them to find out, but I'm just going to wait it out a few more days. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I feel your pain! I paced and paced. I would curse the mailman under my breath. They teased me with letters discussing my pre-req's and thanking me for applying. I applied in September of 2006 and finally, after 2 months of waiting and waiting and tossing and turning I emailed my admission advisor. She told me to try to relax and I wouldn't know anything until February. Well surprise surprise when December rolled around and another letter arrived. Thinking it was them letting me know they had received my final transcript I tossed it aside and read the other mail first. When I opened it, the first line informed me of my acceptance. I screamed, jumped up and down and felt awesome. Now I am in the dreaded wait for Fall '07 semester :uhoh21:

Yeah my experience was similar. I was still working on my prereqs when I applied and was firmly told I would not be officially accepted until my prereqs were done (in June), but I "might" receive a letter at the end of March letting me know if they were keeping my application under consideration. I got my acceptance letter in mid-February.

As for the OP, I wouldn't get psyched up about calling school on Monday because the offices are probably closed and you'll probably just get more anxious when you can't reach anyone by phone (I know I would!). I hope you get good news soon!

Bless your heart. Hang in there. I'll be in your shoes in a few months.

I think that you are most likely in... I was in you shoes like two weeks ago cause school for us starts on the 16th and I was panicking cause I had not heard a single thing... I have a good GPA, Aced the entrance exams, and i was going insane... you can call but i dont think they can tell you something over phone. I went by and they werent suppose to say anything but the advisor let slip by saying that i have to make an appointment with her to register for classes... she gasped and said that she shouldnt have siad that...hehehe... and so i new I was getting an acceptance letter came in two days later... but keep up posted... Good Luck and Im sure you are going to get in.

Thank you all for the kind words.... I'm glad that I am not alone. For those who got in, I'm really happy that it worked out. For those of us who are still waiting, we are just going to have to suck it up and take it day by day... I will keep you posted. Good Luck to all !!!!

Totally with you! I am waiting on the reply too. I am also waiting to move! Shessh. I am a planner and this is killing me.

Another waiter here who can understand how you're feeling! Fortunately (or unfortunately) for me, I still have at least another six weeks of waiting before freak-out mode sets in :)

From your post, it sounds like you're a shoe-in, though, so just a couple of more days of the wait. Best of wishes!

Hey, I'm right there with you on the waiting...I've applied to four schools, received rejection letters from two of them, and am waiting on a third which should be coming in any day now. Supposedly it was sent out Friday (yes, I broke down and called the school to check). I'm feeling a bit down about the rejections (Direct Entry, Accelerated BSN) and am hoping that this school has better news (Diploma program). I won't hear from the fourth school until April.

Like yourself, I also have decent stats (3.7 GPA in the courses that are counted), good refs, 99th percentile on entrance exam, and a decent essay. The program also has rolling admissions, and I applied early. I'm trying to put this out of my mind until Tuesday or Wednesday when the letter comes in!

Good luck to you. I hope the decision is favorable!
