What is anatomy class like?

Is It really gross?

I would like to know

what do you do in that class

(I want to prepare If I should have the puke bag ready or not:scrying: )

(It runs in the family..)

Specializes in L/D.

I am jealous, we didnt get to dissect anything. All we had were plastic models and a really cool interactive CD that had cadavars on it. Anatomy was just a bunch of memorizing of anatomical structures. We didn't have anything "gross" in our class.

We dissected a sheep's brain. It was very interesting and not really gross at all.

dissected a cat in my class which ended up being pregnant, wondered why it looked a little different then the rest of the classes.

It s fun... I like that I get a refresher course for myself every time I teach some one else. Where do you TA ?

Be patient. You'll see plenty when you get into nursing.

Anatomy class is so much fun, but it is alot of work. On the first day of lab, they brought us in to get a general overview of the cadaver we would work with. i don't know if placing the box that said "boneless chicken breasts" was intentional or not:chuckle . Some students didn't come back after that first night. If you get a little queasy, its okay though, it gets easier to do these things as the semester progresses. There will probably be dissection involved, and you may have to name organs, muscles, etc., on the cadaver, but it isn't bad once you are used to it.

We saw a video tape of a cadaver when we learned the muscles, it wasn't so bad because the muscles looked rather pale....nothing bloody!

In Anatomy I we had a pig and a "used" cadaver from the med. school...and when I say used I mean USED. I couldn't make hide nor hair of it...we just basically poked at it. "Does this look like the spleen to you? Well, what's left of it does!" lmao

That's almost surreal.

Anatomy 1 was fun in my opinion. I looked forward for the second part in the Spring Semester. One thing to keep in mind, you cannot wait until the last minute to study. It's a lot of reading, new terminology and the lab class. To me, Anatomy is like taking 3 regular classes. You have to set at least 16 hours aside every week to study. Go to tutoring as soon as possible. Do not wait until you sinking, by then, you will surely drown.

I always like science, I enjoyed every class and I hope you do as well.

Try hard and you will succeed. It is not an impossible class to get an A. I did it! so can you.
