I'm sure I'll decide once I start clinicals, but I'm thinking either OR or oncology. Or possibly becoming a lactation nurse or a school nurse. One of the perks of nursing: SO many choices! What about you??

Critical Care Definitely - Not sure which area of critical care though.

I plan on working in L&D/postpartum. I intend on sitting for the IBCLC exam (lactation consultant) the summer after graduation. I've been a breastfeeding counselor for five years so I already have a lot invested in the decision.

i know the 2 main areas i want to eventually work: Adult ICU and palliative care...
i did my preceptorship in the ICU and i loved it... but i also recognized that i definitely need further training in that area before i work there... i'm starting my CCN course in September and once i have that, i'll definitely pursue ICU...
in the meantime, i'm just focusing on med/surg experience... getting a broad range and find my feet as a new grad for a few years so i can move on to other stuff...
in the end, though, i think i'll end up working palliative/hospice care... the first patients i worked with were palliative, so it has a special place in my heart...

Right now it's looking like NICU but I think eventually, when I don't want to do the hospital thing anymore, I'll settle into home health or hospice.

I either want to work in the ED or the OR. I am also very confused. I have done clinicals in both areas and love them both.

I worked for 3 years in a PICU in England. I was great!! Lots to learn but it kept me on my toes!! Now, I am planning to do a degree here in the US and I hope to get back to the busy ICU once I finish.

I've always wanted to work in L&D. But I know that may change once I work through my other clinical rotations.

Although things can change, right now I'd say ER, OR, L&D, or NICU. All depends on my exposure during clinicals and what areas we actually cover.
