I'm sure I'll decide once I start clinicals, but I'm thinking either OR or oncology. Or possibly becoming a lactation nurse or a school nurse. One of the perks of nursing: SO many choices! What about you??
klone - That's what I thought when I saw her signature. :) Jamie's clan motto! LOL!
I'm rereading the series right now for about the 5th time, so it's fresh in my mind. Trying to cram as much pleasure reading in in the next two months before I'll have to say bye-bye to it for the next two years. :chuckle
mainly because i saw such lousy care when my mom was in a snf after a serious illness. :uhoh21:
if i were to work in a hospital, icu. because i saw such awesome care when my mother was there! :)
but i haven't even been in school yet, so i bet once i do some clinicals, it'll all change!

Well, a couple of weeks ago I had a clinical day in NICU. It was boring. The nurses were sitting around gossiping almost the whole time. Of course this was just at the community hospital and not at the children's hospital...but I think I want more action.
I had my first ped. patient yesterday. I can now safely say, I don't want to work in peds. I have three children of my own, and they are enough to deal with.
I want to work in L&D. I have wanted this for 10 years, and it is the whole reason WHY I got into nursing in the first place. That is where my passion is. I want to eventually be a midwife.
It amazes me that so many of the young girls in my class want to go in to L&D, too. They have no experience in it whatsoever (in a majority of the cases), so I'm not quite sure why they want to go there.
