Hello all, I am curious to see what the current pay rate is across the country so we can better prepare ourselves and negotiate better salaries! Please try to keep this poll to any graduates after 2010. Thanks!
1) State
2) Hourly Salary
3) Experience, if any
4) Specialty, if any
Here's mine:
NJ
$26/hr new grad, no exp., recently changed jobs $33/hr 1 yr exp.
Only 1 year old RN
Nephrology/dialysis
For regular milk , 2.89; lactose free milk 4.56; apples 98 cents lbs in sprouts; of course gas is way more expensive 3.87 , Btw I think is a crime that some states pay less than 25 to new grad, we all deserve at least 30
Costs for these items are identical where I live, but my rent is probably double what most of you pay. I don't own a car though (public transportation is plentiful) and that helps make up a lot of the difference and saves me several hundred dollars a month. I agree - at least $30, especially given what we deal with.
I am a new grad from California. RN-BSN. I finished nursing school in Dec 2012. Finally passed NCLEX-RN in June 2014. I started looking for jobs out-of-state because I still haven't been able to land a job where I live in Southern California.
I so far have two offers from North Dakota and Wyoming.
1) North Dakota
2) Offered $23.80/hour + benefits (but they could be better)
3) No nursing experience, never worked in a hospital even as a CNA.
4) Offered a job on the observation unit
I found a studio apartment for $575/month in ND. It's in a city of about 100,000 population.
1) Wyoming
2) Offered $26.00/hour + benefits (these benefits seem a lot better)
3) No experience
4) Behavioral Health
I found a 1-bedroom apartment in WY for $700. It's in a city of about 55,000 population.
Still debating on where I would be happier.
In the meantime, I'm still searching for jobs all over California.
