  1. Does everyone usually study for the HESI exit exam or do the colleges want you to take it to see how you do?
  2. I have not looked into Frontier. I was looking into both Oklahoma-Wesleyan and Indiana-Wesleyan. I'm looking for an online school that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I'm interested in teaching in the future (I think). I'm looking for a reputable institution that is cost efficient and can be done in a timely manner.
  3. I will be graduating from an ADN program this May!!! I am looking into doing either a RN-BSN or RN-MSN program. What are the opinions on each? What are the best and/or cheapest programs. I will be working after I get my license and starting a family. Help please!
  4. I hope it helped! I am going into Med/Surg III Let meek now if I can help you!
  5. First semester nursing school was based around concepts that are clearly outlined in the book and it is very easy to breeze through and not really "study" the concepts. Med/Surg is completely Different, its more an application of concepts, where the answer just doesn't pop out at you. You really need to read and understand the topic being covered. BUY A RECORDER!Before lecture READ, go through the book and powerpoint and highlight what is listed on the powerpoint! During lecture, re-highlight what they are talking about in the book and write additional notes on the powerpoint. After lecture, re read the book and any additional notes. This reinforces the topic three different times in three different ways! Its all about practice, do practice questions, most books for Med/Surg have one that comes along with your textbook. If not, look for this one: If you need any help feel free to message me! http://www.amazon.com/Med-Surg-Success-Applying-Critical-Thinking/dp/0803625049/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1419005812&sr=1-4&keywords=med+surg+study+guide&pebp=1419005819641 For F&E this book was very helpful: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1605472522/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687622&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=1608312909&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0TGC0JCF7XFZVZCQ2BKG
  6. Anyone work in TN as a new grad? I'll be graduating (fingers crossed) in May. I'm near the Nashville area!
  7. I'm debating on what kind of backpack/carry bag to get for my first semester. I know a lot of people say to get rolling ones (they aren't my favorite) because of all the books that we have. What is everyone getting or what does everyone have :)?
  8. I took the CNA class! It wasn't too hard it's just a lot of material in a short time frame! Just know you skills and soak up any information from the clinicals! I was so worried about the state exam and I wound up getting a 90 on it! Just take your time and study up on the material! You will be fine :)
  9. I got an 86% on the PAX which is a 124 percentile. I am on the waiting list for my nursing school and should know in a month or so if I get pulled off of the list and will be accepted :/ I hate waiting!
  10. I'm going to do the ADN program and bridge over to either a BSN or MSN. It may take a little longer but the ADN program is a little easier to get into at the local colleges and also there are more clinical hours with the ADN and at least here, they tend to like that!
  11. I would try to find a job in a nursing home or a care facility. Generally, they are more understanding of nursing students and their schedules. Hospitals tend to hire people that could work full time (12 hours) with open availability. Since you will be attending college in the fall and you are not fully available that may be why they aren't calling you back!
  12. I totally understand!! I applied to Hopkinsville Community College and I am on the wait list. It's horrible! They have an admission conference on July 9th and from there, if people don't show up they decide if they pull from the wait list! This is killing me!
  13. I've only taken a few online. If you are motivated and can learn without a teacher present go for it. I'm more of a visual learner and I don't do well on the computer so I took most of my pre-reqs in the classroom! To each his own!
  14. I applied to Hopkinsville Community College. I was put on the wait list so I have to wait anywhere from July 9th to August 9th to find out if I am called off the list and will be accepted
