For those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. I know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while I waited.

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX?

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? somewhere between 110 and 120

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? no review course...used saunders books and cds...lippincott cd and another one

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? we used ATI tests though i believe those are more detailed/harder than nclex

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? waited 2 days for unofficial results online...it was about a week/week and a half until the official letter

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i didn't feel great about it...but i didn't think that i could have gotten enough wrong in that number for the computer to deem be incompetent

i felt like i had failed it for sure. i got so nervous around 71st question that i answered some easy questions wrong :banghead:.

Kaplan only. I didn't study. I focused on test taking tips. I figured the knowledge was there from nursing school :)

I actually thought I failed.

First and ONLY :)

1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 75

2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course?

-saunders nclex-rn comprehensive review 4e (the cd helped loads), nclex-rn 4000, kaplan nclex-rn strategies (probably the most important weapon in the orificenal), kaplan's online qbank, and school lecture notes.

-a daily routine of doing hundreds of practice questions a day and reading the rationales.

-there was a 4 day comprehensive review course at the end of my final year in school by meds publishing, but i don't recommend it.

3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)?

-two diagnostic readiness tests (cant recall the names); one which had been a simulation mock-nclex cat exam where i managed to pass with 120 questions with 68% correct (i think it was by eri). it also printed out the student's performance based on strenghts and weaknesses.

-at the end of every semester there would be a special exam similar to a diagnostic test based on the nursing content of the previous semester.

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

-probably the worst 48 hours of waiting ever...prescription lorazepam became a close friend of mine that week.

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

-content and smiling only for being able to finish at 75 and leave that damned building, but during the long walk to my car and drive home i had started to look back and convince myself that i've failed.

6. was this your first attempt at nclex?

-yep.

How many questions did you take on NCLEX?

75..90% priority, the rest was infection control, 2 maths and meds 10-15 SATA..

Kaplan mostly...Saunders but mostly kaplan!

Total disbelief. Didn't know whether i passed or failed really

At first I was certain I had passed since I had studied so hard and only had 75 questions. But 48 hours does alot to your mind and I kept remembering questions and looking up the answers and quite a few were wrong. So I then convinced myself I had failed. I was a basket case.

Yes

1)answered 97 Questions ...took Nearly 3hrs....but As Somebody Said....take Your Own Sweet Time....

2)saunders 3rd Edition Cd And Textbook And Kaplan Cd

4)i Gave My Exam On The 29th August Friday And Saw My Licensure Status On The 2nd Sep Wed...as It Was A Long Weekend......that Was A Looooooooooong Wait....

5)had No Hopes At All..but Kept Praying God For A Miracle...

5)passed At First Attempt....

2. Kaplan, Kaplan Q Bank, STAT, NCLEX3500, Saunders. Did more than 5000 practice questions total.

3. We were required to get 65% on the Kaplan exam before the school would sign off on our ATT

4. PA posted my RN license number online about 46 hours after I took the test! Had the paper license 7 days after that.

5. Felt I didn't know the answer to any of the questions. Consoled myself that most people feel the same way. So I figured it could go either way.

6. Yes, first attempt thank God. Don't want to do that again.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I felt indifferent. I knew I got a lot of them right but was unsure of others, but mostly felt confused because I thought it was going to be a lot harder. Felt good the whole day convinced I had passed but then freaked out the following days because I figured that I must have failed because I did not think it was too hard...but I did pass

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? i waited the 48 hours and used the quick results

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test? total utter disbelief. i was certain i failed.

6. was this your first attempt at nclex? yes, and i did pass!! i tested on july 1st.

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? I took test the 2nd of July found out using quick reults on the 4th

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I thought I failed as I had a ton of select all that aplies and NO Math
