For those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. I know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while I waited.

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX?

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 75

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? I used my nursing textbooks along with Saundersand I also took the Kaplan course. did all the q-bank questions and all the trainers of course. I also read the whole Kaplan book.

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? We did Hesi testing through out and a cummulative test at the end

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? I just found out to day and took my test on July 2nd

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I was 100% certain that I failed. Lucky, that wasn't the case, but it sure felt like it.

2. What study materials did you use? Saunders and Kaplan (question trainers, etc.)

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 1 working day for CA BON, which is pretty good!

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? After takin 265, I think everyone thinks they failed but I didn't!!

I took a Kaplan class through my nursing school, and I did tests online to prepare myself more

We did ATI

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

I waited 2 days and looked them up online. I then got the letter after about 5 days.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

I came out of the test very unsure of how I did, I was scared that I had failed, and everyone around me was convinced that I had passed.

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?

Yes, and my only one!!! I passed on the first try

75 over 2 hours. I got offered the break after I finished and just before I started the post-test survey.

3 days, but I had tested during the holiday weekend

It was the worst experience I ever had in my life--it took me 30 minutes to get myself out of the parking lot, and when I got home I had a good cry. I graduated from NS with highest honors and while I wasn't certain I had failed, I was nowhere near confident that I passed either. I felt like an idiot who at least got all the infection control questions right. Everything they say about the test is true.

First and ONLY, thank God!

saunders, nclex-rn 3500 cd. it is the best to stick to one book only and know the material well. don't jump from one book to the other, it makes no sense. do a lot of questions nclex 3500, it really helps. although not exactly the same, you will find them helpful, read rationales

3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)?

ati and hesi (scored 853, 850 required to pass)

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

48 long hours, you will find them the longest hours in your life. in my case it was exactly 48 hours, not even 1 minute later or earlier since i finished my nclex.

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

i was convinced that i had failed. i heard it is good cuz if you are convinced you passed that means you got really easy questions, which means you are below the passing level.

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i felt it could have gone either way.

4) 48 hrs, iirc .... paid the $7.95 or whatever it was to get results online

NCLEX 2: Saunders, Exam Cram, PD&A by LaCharity, NCLEX Made Incredibly Easy and Kaplan. Yes the full online Kaplan course.

I waited 1 day. My license was posted up on the PA BON the very next day.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

NCLEX 1: Knew I failed.

NCLEX 2: Knew I passed.

I waited 27 hours til I saw it on BON...didn't worry about unofficial PV results then...lol

I was unsure...I felt down right in the middle...came home and tried the PV re-registering trick which helped me throught the night.

I felt horrible after taking the test, I thought for sure that I had failed and was really discouraged.

Yes, and I am sooooooooo Happpppppppppy that I passsssssssssssssed.

2. Kaplan mostly, some Saunders ?'s, ERI material

3. My SON used ERI throughout our program-we were tested out of every semester w/ an end of course ERI. If you did not pass, you did not progress. (My school has 100% pass rate on NCLEX for 7 years now-hope my class makes it 8, so far everyone has passed!)

4. I waited 48 hours.....I took mine on a Friday and found out Sunday!

5. I felt somewhat confident coming out......but nervous as well. It is a very weird feeling knowing that you ust took the exam of your career. I was way more freaked going in than I was coming out.

6. First attempt! I just found out yesterday that I am a RN! :yeah:

5. I was totally certain that I had failed, so much so that I stopped by my favorite wine-o spot and got my favorite wine to celebrate having to take it again. I thought that I had failed it on my first try.
