  1. Have you tried the Pearson Vue re-registering trick? I took mine on 7/23 tried the trick (which helped me throught the night...lol) and found out via the BON on 7/24 so I didn't do the quick results. If you're new to the site there is a large Pearson Vue Trick does it work thread going...hope this helps some. The waiting is the hard part...but congrats on the 75 questions...don't know anyone who failed with that number...Good Luck
  2. Thanks for the code. I just needed binaurals and got a few more things...any amount of savings count...lol
  3. I had a very similar experience with HUH. I was disappointed in the nurse recruiters and their lack of cooperation even though they would "verbalize" interest in assisting you. I was very persistant...calling and going down there (I'm from PA so I wasn't happy having to travel to get "my" stuff). All in all I didn't want to allow the nsg recruiters darken my view for all so I just did what I had to do so I could be done with that department. I had hospital orientation already and begin on August 3rd. My advice is don't let them get under your skin. If you really want to work at HUH call and call and ask to speak to the Chief of Nurse...go down there if you can... Darn shame the hoops the nsg recruiters make you jump through...remember they have their jobs already and even though recruiting is their safety net they have the paperwork to show they "are recruiting"........go get your job!!!!
  4. It worked for me...I took my test @ 10am on 7/23 and saw my name on BON @ 1pm on 7/24. Coming home and doing the PV test kept me sane...even though I did it every hour while awake to ensure I got the same msg...lol Keep faith and try the PV test to aid in keeping your sanity.
  5. 1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 265 questions 2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course? Saunders & Good Thinking Workshop 3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)? ATI & HESI 4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? I waited 27 hours til I saw it on BON...didn't worry about unofficial PV results then...lol 5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? I was unsure...I felt down right in the middle...came home and tried the PV re-registering trick which helped me throught the night. 6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX? Yes thank goodness: NCLEX RN
  6. Congratulations............... I took mine (NCLEX-RN) at 10am yesterday did the Pearson Vue test and got the pop-up preventing me from re-registering :typing.....needless to say I still needed to to see my license number..........and behold at 3pm today I saw my license number on the BON 27 hours later...............:bowingpur On my way to ICU..........
  7. It has been a long road, but worth the journey....congrats on your achievement....I have 67 days left (management & precepting) ...Graduating on June 17th....wheeeewwwww
  8. I am in my last term in nursing school....yay!!! I am curious about the required hours that other students must complete to graduate. I need 96 hours of precepting time over 2 1/2 weeks. We also get about 5 weeks of management (didn't calculate the hrs). What does your program require for graduation?
  9. There are a few home daycares that do over night. My friend has 3 children and the home daycare she has used for the last 3yrs is in East Hills. I will look into a few more for you. I don't have the info in hand right now. I also live in Penn Hills. Did you apply to Seneca, Longwood? They are always hiring. Any questions please ask. I will make sure to get the other daycare's info.
  10. Has anyone used the Delmar Nursing Review by Donna Gauwitz? I was on the NSNA website and they were referring this book for review. I also did a search on Amazon and seen pretty good reviews. I don't graduate until June 2009 and my school uses ATI. I am scoring Level 1 on most proctored exams, hence a 85% chance passing the NCLEX (according to ATI) when I took my comprehensive exam. Just trying to stay ahead of the game. We are required to do 100 NCLEX questions a week. I think I need to work on the content as well as how to pick the correct answer after narrowing it down to two answers. I might try Kaplan question strategies. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks for the info btoddrn. If you don't mind, I have a few more questions to ask. Did you work in the ED there? I am interested in telemetry. How is the staffing? Is the staff helpful? How is the hospital environment when it comes to cleanliness? Most of all, How is the management (both in the nursing dept & at the hospital)? I have an interview coming up & am looking at all my options because I would be relocating. I spoke to the recruiters and they seemed pretty informative. Like you said they pay well to get you in the door. Being a new grad I wouldn't sign any contract >1 year because I don't want to feel like I'm "stuck". How frustrating finding a job as a new grad can be. Thanks in advance
  12. Any HUH info?????? I will be a new grad in June. Finding a graduate position is time consuming as well as frustrating when the hospitals don't know their needs. Just wondering if there is anyone who works at HUH or knows how the hospital environment is. I also heard they pay top dollar in DC. Any info on working enviornment and how orientation is. Getting anyone on the phone seems impossible at times. Thanks in advance for any and all responses.
