  1. Excelsior is a money hungry school and I'm sick of wasting my money here. i will not retake and will enroll in a respected nursing program.
  2. I just failed 496 by 7 questions. I freaking hate this FCCA, I hate Excelsior and I regret enrolling in Excelsior aka a money drain.
  3. Yeah they do. It seems like they will hire anyone that walks in off the street.
  4. couldnt agree more, and I currently work there. There is a HIGH nurse turnover rate. New grad nurses stay for about a year and they leave. i hate this ghetto hospital so much.
  5. NursePamelaS can you check your pm? I have a question i am dying to know the answer to. Thnks :)
  6. I have the Taylors too, but are there more apps besides the Q&A one?
  7. Preceptorship where? I mean I plan on working at mostly federal hospitals but I would love to put Johns Hopkins on my resume at some point in time.
  8. This sucks but oh well that doesnt stop me from working in any federal hospital in Maryland. Lunah how long were you in the Army? Did you do a direct accession into the Nurse Corps after your BSN?
  9. Hope my thread title makes sense, but I recently met a gentlement who completed Excelsior 2 years ago. He recently graduated from Howard University in DC with his BSN and applied for licensure in Maryland. Maryland denied him off the basis of that even though his BSN is from Howard, his associates from Excelsior is what really mattered and he is not eligible for licensure. Anyone else have this problem in any other states that doesnt accept Excelsior?
  10. thank you!!! your post is exactly what i was looking for. thanks for that. i start work there on aug 3, also i used to be stationed and nnmc bethesda.
  11. Im sorry but this isnt intended to be rude or anything but can you just start your own topic about finding out the salary there or even call or go to the hospital itself. I started this topic because I wanted to know different people opinions on this situation I am having there.
  12. Hey guys I need your opinions for an issue I am having with Howard University Hospital nursing recruiters. I interviewed for a position in the ER about 3 wks ago. The interview went great and I knew I had the position however the problem is with the nurse recruiters. They did absolutely nothing. I had to call them to find out that I had actually gotten the job. They never answer their phones and never return phone messages. At one point I had spoken with one and she said she was going to call me back later on in the day and of course she never did. I called back later on that week and she says "oh you were supposed to call me back 2 days ago. I remember her clearly saying she was going to call me back. So another week goes by and I called back once again trying to get ahold of someone because I didn't know what to do at all. I spoke with another recruiter who was yet another person who never answered his phone. I have to call the secretary and she had to walk all the way over to their offices and let them know I was trying to call them. In order for them to pick up and I know first hand that they are not busy at all. Well the second recruiter I spoke with let me know what I needed to do to get started, but he didn't tell me my salary info and told me to call back. I did that MONDAY AND GOT THE other recruiter and she said that she need to speak with the Chief Nursing Officer and that she would call me back later on. Well of course she never did and I called again the next day. She told me that she was speaking the the CNO that moment and would let me know. Of course she didn't and when I tried to call back she has gone home for the day. I called back again and her story changes to that she is still waiting to hear back from the CNO. At this point I am extremely ****** off. I called the CNO and lodged a complaint about my experience with them. Do u guys think that was right of me to do especially since I haven't started working yet? I am not sure if I want to work there anymore.
  13. Hey your test sounds just like mine. I took my NCLEX on Monday and it shut off at 85 questions. I didnt have any med calculation questions, a few SATA, some pharm, but mostly priority questions. I found out yesterday I passed and felt as if I missed a whole lot.
