Saunder's Comprehensive Review NCLEX RN 3rd edition with companion CD

Saunder's Q&A CD

Prioritization, Delegation, & Assignment by LaCharity, Kumagai, & Bartz

from the philippines here...i attended the ati-evoke nurse review..(the most expensive nclex review in manila but the worst!) alot of times, students asked why that answer for that question is correct, what the instructors do will look at his photocopy...stare at it like trying to figure out d answer...look at the student and say.."lets get back on this later..." then never really get back on it!..ggeezz!!!! i waisted my money! the online atii is helpful though, but mainly the thing here is keep answering test questions!. do saunders for context, kaplan for critical thinking, have in mind the abc's, triage, nsg process. lab values, common meds and side effects..these are like your back-ups while answering actual nclex questions.

and above all these. pray and trust god

I used Mosby's (the CD since NCLEX is on the computer) and went thru about 1000 questions total. I also studied A LOT during the nursing program. I made sure that I really understood the material which made studying for boards easier. If there was something in the question that I didn't understand then I looked into it further on the internet.

Also, I have Saunder's and tried studying with that CD. I didn't like the questions though. After using Mosby's....Saunder's is easier questions and I didn't feel challenged. Mosby's asked questions that were similar to the actual NCLEX.

BTW, I found out this AM that I passed :) I had 76 questions.

I feel that all the books are equally good. I took Kaplan and used their Qbank, but instead I used mainly the HESI book to look up on things that I forgot, but I also used the Kaplan book for other things as well. I think doing questions helps the most. Do as much as you can. For me I did 100 questions a day. I would spend a few hours going over the questions that I missed, read the rationales, and if I still don't understand I would look it up (whichever book you prefer). The goal was for me to not memorize everything, but the important things such as safety precautions, important labs and drug values, etc. Other things such as diseases, you should try to understand them instead of memorizing them. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to IM me, my AIM is YelloFello because I know how nerve racking this is. If you like me to answer more of your questions here, please feel free to ask me, I will be very happy to do so.
