(take note each poster I made had my name with the letters R.N. at the end) **I wrote my real name on my posters**
I posted this in front of the toilet bowl, behind the front door, behind the bathroom door, infront of the threadmill, by my closet, by the kitchen, by the computer, all over the house and I also brought one with me where ever I go.
I used EXAM CRAM NCLEX RN and took it with me all the time. At work on my break time, at my moms house, friends house, at the park, & at the beach. A very handy book, small and very easy to understand (I'm a foreigner). I didn't want heavy and wordy books. The Exam Cram worked great for me.
I took the computer adaptive test that the book came with, and wrote down in my 79cent MEAD journal notebook the information that I got wrong. Boy did I fill that notebook. In this way I was able to focus studying more of my weaknesses. For me it was all in all an awesome technique. The brainwashing posters all over the house, the mini study book (Exam Cram NCLEX RN), the CAT cd it came with, oh and LOT'S & LOT'S of PRAYERS. It's all good!
Somebody else gave me this technique. It wasn't mine, but somehow it worked for my friend and for me as well. Try it, you never know, it might work for you to.
Good luck!

Read Read Saunders 3rd edition. Asked urself after what u remember on what u read? And if u still didnt understand just read it again. Everything u read, it will all paid off later because no matter what question the NCLEX will give to u, u can answer it... I realized, theres alots of disorders but just mostly the same symptoms. Such as what happen when our body dont have water? or too much water??....
I also used Kaplan before to read their strategies, elimination, ABC, etc which u can also see at 3rd edition Saunders...
GoodlUck to U guys.. Pray PRay PRay, and Study Hard;)
hi,
i used sauders comprehensive review for nclex rn(3rd ed.) along with their q-bank book and all the CDs that came along with them.i also found the kaplan course helpful to learn the strategies like elimination, critical thinking, gathering of need info from the given questions, etc.
if u ask me,practice is what helps u most regardless of what book u have.u can use any book (preferably the latest ed. cuz things keep changing)but practice and a lot of dedication hardwork and prayer is what brings sucess to u!!!!!! ALL THE BEST...
I used Suzanne's study plan: 100 questions a day from Saunders NCLEX-RN review book and CD.
And I also found Ray Gapuz' NCLEX review book helpful. When answering questions and got it wrong, I jot down all the rationales in a notebook. 3 days before the actual test, I did not study anymore, I tried to relax and get my mind off the test. I watched T.V. and surfed the net. This strategy worked for me.
I've used NSNA's NCLEX-RN Review, 5th edition (2005) from Thomson Learning. NSNA means National Student Nurses Association.
But I haven't passed the test yet...so I don't know how valid this book may be. I hired a tutorer and he suggested using this book.
Actually working as an assistant nurse before writing the test may be the best textbook. Working for a little while may give you the nursing common sense that you need to ace the test.

Had I known then what I know now after NCLEX, I would NOT have taken the review course (MEDS), because if I had just did the 200 to 300 questions a day like I did for the 3 weeks, I would have done just as well. I paid like $400 for the class, didn't think it was worth it. AT the time I did, but not now. QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS, that's my advice!!
