People Who Passed Nclex: Please Post Study Book

Published

Sorry for the caps, but please post your study method and list the books you used..Thank you..

I feel that all the books are equally good. I took Kaplan and used their Qbank, but instead I used mainly the HESI book to look up on things that I forgot, but I also used the Kaplan book for other things as well. I think doing questions helps the most. Do as much as you can. For me I did 100 questions a day. I would spend a few hours going over the questions that I missed, read the rationales, and if I still don't understand I would look it up (whichever book you prefer). The goal was for me to not memorize everything, but the important things such as safety precautions, important labs and drug values, etc. Other things such as diseases, you should try to understand them instead of memorizing them. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to IM me, my AIM is YelloFello because I know how nerve racking this is. If you like me to answer more of your questions here, please feel free to ask me, I will be very happy to do so.

Thanks. Please come help us in "April Nclex test takers group' Thanks

Well I think to sum it up from all the post here:books that most students rely on for the NCLEX-RN are:

SAUNDERS-for content

KAPLAN-for criitical thinking skills

LOTS of Q and A

And of course,PRAYERS....

With all these, you can never go wrong...GOODLUCK

I took the NCLEX Friday and got my results today. I passed with 75 questions.

I took the KAPLAN online Q bank last year then I went to Africa on vacation.

Came back and did as many Saunders questions as I could. But Saunders is too easy compared to the NCLEX but its good for content review

Did the learningext self questions and the questions after each topic. I did not bother reading the notes and stuff did just questions. I think Learningext and KAPLAN were most helpful for me.

Hey there

Use the KAPLAN course book for pharmacology. It summarizes all the important stuff you need to know. And just remember you cannot know all meds. But at least try and know what category it belongs to that helps a lot when you eliminate answers...

Congratulations NurseAdida!!!:nurse: :yeah: :nurse: :yeah: :nurse: :yeah:

I hope that I will be able to post the same as you at the end of this week!!! I take the test on Tuesday....ofcourse I am nervous and feel unprepared, but I will do my best.... I BELIEVE I CAN PASS  It is toooo late to believe anything else at this time....I am now going over the content in the kaplan course book....and I didn't get through all the videos, but I did get through the pharm one yesterday night...and will review them. I did all the qbank, but I am still worried about my content knowledge. In nursing school, everytime there was a test I would memorize everything :uhoh21: And during the exit exam,,,,I memorized every disorder in that book....I felt confident during those exam, but this time around I didn't memorize anything word for word...and actually, I spent the past three weeks only doing questions after being out of the nursing world for a year! :banghead::banghead::banghead: WELL......I will continue to try my best!!! :bowingpur:bowingpur I need to pass....I need this job...I need a better future for my children and family :nurse::redbeathe:nurse: Please keep me in your thoughts this Tuesday!!!!

How long did you study per day. Also how many weeks did you study.

I gave myself a month before the test to study and I would study 5 - 6 hours a day.

I used Saunders, Kaplan stratagies, and the prioritization, delegation, and assignment book. I highly recommend the prioritization book... The questions were very similar to the NCLEX. I really only started studying a week before the test and I didn't really study but did a lot of questions. I think just doing the questions and understanding rationals is key.
