Sorry for the caps, but please post your study method and list the books you used..Thank you..
i used saunders 3rd edition- i used the cd, nclex made easy, and kaplan- i honestly think that what helped the most was reviewing content i knew was not my strongpoint- such as mental health- i probably did around 2000 questions or so from a variety of books and cds- a lot of the information is the same from book to book- but they put it different perspectives- good luck!
suzannes study plan ,saunders 3rd edition rn
ive used saunder's comprehensive book (barely read the book), cd (both comprehensive and q&a but theyre pretty much the same; did a the first 5 systems in the comprehensive cd and it broke so i started with my q&a cd and asked my classmate to make me a copy of the comprehensive one but didnt get to use it anymore), and note cards which i finished only 400 some q's out of 900... ... . i have mosby's, and delmars (i finished both cds)... ... also eri, barely studying it online, it was free too from my skool... also book like frye's 3000 nursing bullets, i read this book from cover to cover.... and the book new format 250 questions which i got 2 weeks before my boards! basically i was jst scanning this book and didnt even finished it.
i could have studied more but the lack of time, plus i worked 2 jobs and ended up quitting the other one.... and the boyfriend who always wants his time..... yah, i hv to deal with him too!
i also reschdule my appointment once and when the time to take it was approaching, i almost reschedule for the second time.... glad i didnt.....
who is suzanne and what is her study plan???? ive seen her all over the forum but didnt have any idea at all..
anyway, im new..... and i jst passed my nclex-pn. found out today!!! im so happy... it was a big relief for me after 4 weeks of waiting!!! yes! 4 weeks of hell for me... and i really thought i failed it!!!! i did all 205 gruesome questions and yes, it was nothing compared to what i hve studied!!!
now, it's time for a job hunting!!!

hi rina... just pm her re your query, she'd reply to u re study plan. ciao!
I used Saunder's Comprehensive book (great book for reviewing content!!!) and Kaplan (great for practicing critical thinking questions).I did use for a little while NCLEX 3500 software, but didn't work for me. Hope this helps!
:yeahthat:
Same here :) When I felt like I was missing too much in a given area (renal, OB, pharm, whatever) I'd go to Saunders, do a pile of questions in that area until scores went up, then go to Kaplan and REALLY test on it
Saunders questions, IMO, were too simple for NCLEX simulation. Actually, their questions were usually ok, it was that they gave you answer choices that were MUCH easier to figure out which one was correct. Too much hand-holding.
Kaplan questions made you have to really read that question, make sure you knew what was being asked, think more. And the answer choices were usually difficult enough that you REALLY had to decide carefully, oftentimes a few of the choices seemed good or right.
I'd recommend Kaplan's Q-Bank and Question Trainer series in a heartbeat. I was always a good student, but THESE question formats really made me think more strategically, more critical thinking than Saunders ever did.
Lippincott's was, well....too easy. Maybe you can pass boards with just Lippincott's, in which case, you probably didn't need much review
I didn't do Kaplan. I did Meds Pub review and practice questions. They were good, but really I didn' think they were too similiar to NCLEX. I also did Saunders questions, they were good, but I think Mosby's really were good. They really made you think and on the CD, you can choose your level of difficulty to practice.
Honestly, I only used Meds Pub for content review after my review course. I used Saunders only for questions as well as Mosby's. I think the BEST thing you can do to prepare is do loads of questions.
