  1. if you're not kidding you need a new career! Good luck.
  2. [ Sitting patient up and administering 3-4 liters of oxygen and then wait few minutes sounds like a good intervention to me. Just make sure the patient doesn't have COPD if you go above 2l.
  3. LA County is still hiring, it just takes a while. They also have new grad programs at Olive View and LACUSC, call the recruiters!!! The interview process can be tedious, managers interview multiple times for their own departments so you might have a few interviews and even if they love you it can take longer than a month to hear. Be patient. Do some volunteer or registry work if you can. The new grad programs will help you!!! Good luck
  4. Always O2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For anything else you need a protocol or a Dr's order. Since O2 is a med(gas) your protocol should cover you for this or get an order ASAP but slap it on anyway!
  5. Speech is a college and most likely a board requirement . Call and ask them. Good luck
  6. Look at the prior passing rates... just a bad class I think. The board audited the program in 2006. If you're a serious student you'll pass. Good luck.diane
  7. not a current student but I am a 2006 grad. East LA has amazing teachers and a very supportive director who is pretty much on top of everything and doesn't let her students sink. Every instuctor will provide extra tutoring or do whatever they need to to help you pass. It is a good program, tough to get into and they expect you to study, no skating here. It's all the same faculty so good luck!!!
  8. ELAC's nursing department is excellent. Call the secretary and ask her your question. Do well on the TEAS and you'll get in. It's a great program. I am a proud ELAC grad!!!!!!!!! Good Luck!
  9. I am taking transitions and Pathophysiology, first classes!
  10. CCNE accredited. I know this is an old thread but I wanted everyone to know that the BSN from Fort Hays (yes a real State School) is totally virtual if you need it to be. Same course content as the on campus folks, you progress at whatever speed you like. Started last week :) !!!!!!!!!!
  11. My friend Denise and I also started last week. What classes are you taking?
  12. El Camino has a reputation of being a very difficult program academically i.e. a high dropout rate. Those that finish do well on boards. It really depends on what you're looking for and what your career goals are. I still pick LAC.
  13. It's July 2nd in minutes and for all you July 3rd test takers it's time to rest! If you're at a hotel a swim or the hot tub is good ,avoid alcohol until after the test and get a good nights sleep! You won't retain new info at this stressful time, just have faith in the hard work you've put in and Good Luck!
  14. I almost went with Chamberlain until I found out they ARE DeVry and are currently being investigated for credit they've been granting! I really want my $60 back as I specifically told the enrollment person that I wouldn't do UOP because of their ongoing investigations. That said, I am going to Fort Hays through their virtual RN-BSN program. No loans needed, $161 a credit hour. The people there are really helpful and it's all online!
