Hello everyone.... I'm new to allnurses and I was hoping to get some feedback on if the "Pearson Vue Trick" is real or is it just one of those nursing student urban legions??? Please let me know what you think, all comments are welcomed. Thanks

If you go to the NCLEX discussion forum, you will find hundreds of post on this very topic. They all have varying opinions.

Yep, frequent topic in the NCLEX forum. However, I will say this: it's a waste of time because it's not always accurate, it is in no way official, and QuickResults are a much cheaper option when you consider that people are willingly risking $200 on what is essentially a Magic 8 Ball.

There is a legion dedicated to trying this trick over and over. I'm not sure if it's urban or not.

CONGRATS! So your Magic 8 Ball told you what you hoped to hear ?
Telling people "it worked for me" is like telling them "you won't have any problem getting accepted into nursing school, I did!"
If it matches up, it "worked". If it doesn't...it didn't. Game, people.....game.
i was an alternate in nursing school and Im not saying its 100% reliable it gave me good pop up and yes I passed may not work for everyone the only reason I tried it was because I was depressed and feeling like crap and looked on these boards about how everyone had tried it kinda gave me a small glimmer of hope and eased my mind some. Yes it is a magic 8 ball but it may put some peoples mind at ease during the dreaded 48 hr wait for quick results. I know I felt like I could not enjoy myself during those 48 hrs so I tried it. It helped and yes use at ur own risk

OP, are you currently a nursing student? If so, give careful consideration to you user name!
Thanks everyone for the e reply.. I took the boards for the 3rd time yesterday. The first 2 times I got all 265 and it took me 5-6 hours to complete each time. Needless to say my confidence was shot and I didn't think I would ever pass so when I got done with my 3rd attempt yesterday I was feel good about the test but I felt good the first time I took it to. My nerves were so bad having to wait for the quick results so I Google "how to tell if you pass nclex" and I found plenty of people talking about the PV trick so I have it a try using a real cc with the expiration date wrong and I got the "good" pop-up but there were still so many different oppions on how reliable the PVT was so I just went to bed not really sure... But this morning I decided to check my state website and I found out I PASSED!!! I'm so relieved to have that test out of the way and now I can start my career. I already have a job lined up and the interview is in a week. So I guess the PVT worked for me, thanks again everyone!
