Anyone Here Pay $200 Dollars Still Passed?

Nursing Students NCLEX Nursing Q/A

Anyone here did the pearson vue trick and were charged $200, and still passed?

I just finished my exam earlier, then I did the PVT. I followed the PVT trick process, putting in my credit card information. Unfortunately, the payment went through.

I was just still hoping and possibly in denial stage right now that I failed. Reaching out to the community to see if anyone experienced this kind of situation, but passed?

Pearson Vue changed its registration software back in late August 2014. No longer will anyone see a "Delivery Successful" message.

It is true that occasionally someone will be able to register for another exam, and pay $200 to do so...and yet will have passed the exam. You are warned on two screens that the payment is non-refundable, so in the event you DO pass....you are out the money.

It's a small percentage, no doubt, but it has happened, and more frequently in the last couple of months I'd say than before that. If people keep doing the PVT (especially those who do it repeatedly when getting a 'good' pop up message) they are only increasing the odds that PV will take the money.

In a nutshell, YES it's possible you passed, but not likely. If you were able to pay on your first PVT attempt, it's even more likely (as the anomaly seems to occur with multiple attempts).

Sorry, but....hang in there until you receive official results. Then you will know for certain.

Sorry this is not good news, on my 1st nclex i was charged and yes i failed but 8 weeks later i passed but never did the pvt 2nd time , i just waited for quick results and never slept for 2 days!

Almost all of the PVT folks that are able to reregister that end up passing go straight home and try to do it. You have to wait for the results to be delivered before it works.

If the results are not delivered, it will almost always allow you to reregister.

This is the boat I am in. I went home immediately after taking the exam for the 4th time and tried the trick. I FELT AMAZING ABOUT THE TEST THIS TIME. I knew I got the last question right too. SO I was certain I passed and I tried the trick and it took my payment.... I am praying that I passed... Even though that WILL mean that I gave away $200 freaking DOLLARS. I have never stopped at 75 questions. The last time I took it I went all the way to 265 questions and I didn't get below the standard line in any section so I was definitely improving! I signed up for the Kaplan course and completed it before my exam and felt completely confident. I studied this time harder than I have ever studied in the past so I was certain that there was NO WAY I completely bombed it to the point that they wouldn't let me continue to try after 75 questions, if I hadn't passed up till that point. It cut off at 75... It took my money. I'm freaking out. I'm feeling dumb and lost. Feeling dumb for trying the trick an hour later without researching and also feeling dumb for getting my hopes up and also, if I didn't pass, feeling dumb that my studying tactics aren't helping me get this over with. I need some prayers. I find out today at 4:30.

I've heard from about 3 people that the site took their money later to find out they passed the test , the trick is no longer accurate because Pearson vue updated the web site to get rid of that just wait for your results those are 200$ you won't get back

Friends of yours? I guess we will see soon... I can only hope. I couldn't find any testimonies from anyone who had paid and passed... I will definitely share mine if this happens to me. It was a lot of money to gamble with, but if I passed... I will be completely relieved. Thank ya'll for sharing these stories.

Good luck , when will you find out ? I know how this feels, i went through it myself 2x the first time they took my payment but i too was in hope as i did it practically a few hours after the test , but i did fail , the 2nd time i never did the PVT and i never slept for 2 days , thats the truth! When i found out i passed i was relieved and then went on a high so when i did finally sleep, i was knocked off for days!

I know its a very stressful time not knowing for sure but i wish you all the best :)

They are there, mostly buried under a billion other posts asking the same or similar questions regarding NCLEX. Most recent one I noticed on this forum was two or three weeks ago; someone had posted a lengthy rant about doing the PVT, getting charged, then seeing his/her license number on the State BoN website. Not going to take the time to dig it up, much more productive use of time to simply say "it happens"!

One of the big things is waiting long enough for your results to get processed. There is the original computer scoring, then a second scoring. You need to wait 24 hours until after you have taken the NCLEX for the second set of results. Some of the people who have passed but paid checked too soon.

How did you get on?

Specializes in Oncology.

First time in April, I took NCLEX and did PVT an hour after. It took my money. And I failed.

This past Wednesday, my second try, I did the trick about 26 hours after the test. It alerted me that I still had exam in process. 40 hours later, my BON updated my profile with RN license number.

Therefore, PVT works for me.

Well guys sad to say, i failed. maybe the PVT is still accurate.
