NYU Accel. BSN Fall 2010

Published

I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions

HI all,

I did call and totally my heart missed a beat. The record clerk said, "We 'refused' your application. It is under review."

I asked her to repeat, "We 'RECEIVED' your application. It is complete and under review. Whew! Yea, just wanted a status check b/c I submitted everything by 2nd wk of March.:)

TY.

That's what happens when you subconsciously believe you are ultimately going to be rejected lol

So I am able to get my NET ID and log into home.nyu.edu. Does this mean I'm a student in the accelerated program or does it just mean I am admitted to the college but not to the accelerated program yet???

Okay so I'm getting pessimistic here. My ap was submitted at end of Jan or early Feb..still haven't heard :-( Has everyone heard already? They did request my mid-term grades, which I sent back in mid-late March, and they were As. I have a feeling they are waiting to see who accepts acceptance before they decide whether or not to admit me :-(

hey! i've been meaning to ask what your status is.. i'm sorry to hear that you're still waiting, but considering your midterm grades, i don't think you'll have a problem. if i were you, i would call and just ask! do it! :) i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thanks for your vote of confidence Aly ;-) I called the admissions office and they transferred me to Ms. S and I got her voicemail..didn't leave a message, so I just shot her an e-mail..Hopefully I'll get some kind of response by next week :-)

Did they tell you when you would hear back over the phone? From older forums, a lot of people heard later than others so you're definitely not alone. And hey, in my book, if you're on this forum, that means that you're up to date and have worked hard to get where you are so I'm sure that you'll have no problem getting in. Plus, your grades sound more than stellar so keep your head up!

I've been experiencing some anxiety myself as of late. I re-sent the transcript that they said I was missing and lo and behold, the school sent it to a completely different address, ughs. Thwarted again! I'm hoping this isn't some bad sign of divine intervention here. If so, I say fate should go and screw itself because I'm dying to get into nursing school lols. What happened was that I ordered my transcript online and chose NYU from a pull-down menu (assuming that it was going to go straight to their Undergraduate Admissions Office) and instead, it got sent to some place on 1st Avenue. After many calls and talking to a lot of file clerks, I'm finally going to get the transcript sent straight to my house and send it first-class certified all on my own so I can track it. At this point, I've had it with the post office and shelling out extra dough to get my mail certified. I'm probably not going to hear back for awhile but I'm very glad that they decided to keep my application instead of tossing it out. Too bad they didn't notify me of my incomplete application ahead of time though...I'm just dying to get my transcript there before they decide to change their mind! It's been a frustrating whirlwind around here! I'm feeling frustrated because at this rate, I won't find out anything from anywhere until I've graduated from my undergrad (next month, woot!) but I'm trying to keep my hopes up. I still have all my science classes to consider and can't let my grades slip up because I'm so frustrated with all of these app shenanigans. It's been stressing me out too so I definitely know how you're feeling.

Be assured that since you already have a complete application, you'll hear a lot sooner than I will, lols. Good luck! I'm sure you'll hear an answer when you least expect it!

Wow Flee -- I think that's great that they're still going to accept your application! I know the waiting is stressful, especially when so many others have heard and there's science finals to worry about..I'll cross my fingers/toes for both of us ;-)

anyone out there know how to stop e-mail notification without going through a bunch of garbage? Have tried few times at user control panel and are still receiving the notifications

anyone sent in their deposit yet, and know if they send a confirmation email/letter or anything?

yeah, first i got a letter from NYU saying they received my deposit and how they're glad i chose them and blah blah blah.. and then i got a call from some lady in the admissions asking if i had any questions. I asked her where my financial aid package was, and she said it'll arrive this week. Get ready for the scary part..the high interest rate PRIVATE LOANS...:crying2:

hello everyone!

i found out today that i got accepted!!!! :yeah:i feel like i could go and conquer the world! lol...

just wondering, is there a facebook group for the Accelerated BSN Fall 2010? i'd love to get to know my fellow classmates before the program starts!

to those of you still waiting for a decision--hang in there! (and really, don't focus on the netID stuff. mine doesn't work yet either.)
