  1. Hey NYU Grads, as a student of their Nursing program, I was wondering if I can get some input of how you guys are doing in the Job market right now. I know the markets tough right now, and I'm sure every new grad is having a difficult time landing a job. The reason I ask is because the two people that I know who graduated last semester landed a job right away after the program. Did the school help at all in recruitment process? or if not how are you guys managing to pay off the huge loan?
  2. yeah, first i got a letter from NYU saying they received my deposit and how they're glad i chose them and blah blah blah.. and then i got a call from some lady in the admissions asking if i had any questions. I asked her where my financial aid package was, and she said it'll arrive this week. Get ready for the scary part..the high interest rate PRIVATE LOANS...
  3. i applied for the accelerated program.
  4. tots24, i did get my initial acceptance over the phone
  5. my grades weren't that great, u can check it in my previous posts but i had a 3.4 GPA with A's and B's in my prereqs. My Netid does work, I was the second person to find out it works and when I called they told me that I got in over the phone. Hope you guys find out soon!! Good luck.
  6. Guys I received my acceptance letter in the mail today! it was postmarked April 9th. Good luck to the rest of you who are waiting!
  7. Hey Kelzy! I can't PM yet, but I have a question for you about the summer externship. Did you have to send them your transcript from your previous degree as well? or was the NYU transcript for nursing good enough? I'm just concerned because I have a "C" in one of my science course (not a prereq) from my previous college that I went to.
  8. Hey guys, I was told that at NYU, your GPA starts from scratch.. This is really good news for me because I want to participate in their externship program which requires 3.5 GPA, and my cumulative is 3.4 right now.. It would've been almost impossible to pull it up to 3.5 in one semester. BUT i feel like it's too good to be true....can any current students fill me in on this one?
  9. nope. nothing new since then.
  10. I was gonna go to stony brook if they get a open spot for me, but NYU has always been a dream school and living in the city is too attractive to withdraw their admission i can't wait for the financial aid packet to come, so I can start applying for private loans
  11. I'm referring to you and how you CAPITALIZED and stated like your from the adcoms that they dont tell you over the phone. I know thats not usual, but it does happen. well, good luck.
  12. You almost sound like I was lying about being informed over the phone. what the...
  13. The person told me I should be getting my packet (which is the decision) in about 2 weeks or so. All i remember is the "2 weeks". it could've been after two weeks or within two weeks. i think the first batch of acceptance will go out in midst april, and depending on deposit status, they'll send out another in early may or so (from previous posts). I remember the wait felt like forever for me. I'm sure you guys will hear from them soon :)
  14. aspiring nurse, I applied back in october bc i initially wanted to start in the spring but decided to change the app to the fall. I actually live near long island area, so i would have been able to commute from home if i went to molloy or stony brook. NYU is the only school that would require me to move out but it's what i wanted to do anyway
  15. I dont know what this N number is but go on NYU website and try loging on by activating your netid. You have to put ur ss# and dob and so forth. Maybe some people tried calling them after they saw my post and they decided its not the right way to inform them. I applied to Molloy, Stony Brook and NYU. I got accepted to Molloy and waitlisted at Stony Brook but definitely going to NYU now.
