NYU Accel. BSN Fall 2010

Published

I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions

hello everyone!

i found out today that i got accepted!!!! :yeah:i feel like i could go and conquer the world! lol...

just wondering, is there a facebook group for the accelerated BSN Fall 2010? i'd love to get to know my fellow classmates before the program starts!

to those of you still waiting for a decision--hang in there! (and really, don't focus on the netID stuff. mine doesn't work yet either.)

congrats! i just sent in my deposit, so ill definitely be attending!

i don't think there is a facebook group yet.

Congrats Kanhosa! :yeah:

Just curious, when did you submit your completed app? Also pls share your stats - Undergrad background and how you did on your pre-reqs.

Thanks

i just made a group for us :) i called it NYU Accelerated Nursing Fall 2010 ... you guys should join!

yay! i just joined lol.

cool. i got in. But i'm debating... tuition is so high but living in the city would be cool vs. tuition not so high but the place isn't as exciting...

I was just accepted to the NYU accelerated program on Saturday, and I'm very excited! However, I was accepted to the Columbia ETP program earlier in the year and already had to commit to them. I am planning to get my masters (PNP) at the end of the 15 months at NYU, although it would give me some flexibility with where I went for my masters if I wanted it, I guess....

I'm currently getting my masters elsewhere in a different area, so going to Columbia would require me to leave my program early, since the ETP program starts June 2nd. My current program is allowing me to conditionally graduate early (we have summer semester), but there are a lot of pre-req hoops to jump through for Columbia, and I would have to move right away, before my current apt lease is up.

Does anyone have any strong opinions about why one program might be better than the other? Or why I should go to Columbia over NYU despite the logistical problems? More info/opinions on either program would definitely be helpful!

There are a lot of other considerations that go into it, but I don't want to bore you all :)

Congrats to everyone who got in and good luck to everyone still waiting- it's impossible!!

I just joined the facebook group! yay!! this is so exciting!!

MJM2010- i'm graduating this summer with a degree in business management, and at the time i applied, my gpa was around 3.2 or so? i submitted my app by the march 1st deadline, and i really spent a LOT of time writing killer essays because i knew my grades weren't impressive. i also made sure i got a really good rec letter. when it comes to prereqs, i got mostly A's and B's in all of them, so maybe that helped too? (i was also asked to submit a midterm report of the prereqs i'm taking this semester)

i hope this helps! good luck, and i hope you'll get in!! :-)

Hi all! I am attending NYU for their Accelerated BSN program this fall as well! I'm really excited, and can't wait to meet all of you! Best of luck to those still waiting to hear! I hope you all get in :)

Finally got through to someone and they said that my ap is complete and currently under review by the admissions committee and I should expect to hear in the next few weeks. Yes, FEW WEEKS. I dont know what to do because registration has opened and if I don't get in, I need to register for classes (organic chem, patho, pharm) to try for the SUNY schools/other privates :-( I'm in such a state of limbo and If I don't register soon I'll be closed out of classes, but if I register too soon I may have to PAY before I hear back from NYU and possibly lose the $$ if I get in :-( Congratz to the rest of you though! To the person who mentioned Columbia..I suppose one difference would be that Columbia is an Ivy League, if that kind of thing tickles your fancy ;-) Another plus would be that your entrance is guaranteed in to the masters program, without having to go through the application process..It would be interesting to see if Columbia grads get preferential treatment for hiring at Presbyterian...no clue about that. Good luck with your decision, whatever that may be.

Anyone out there who applied as a traditional transfer to the college of nursing has gotten a decision yet???
