NYU Accel. BSN Fall 2010

Published

I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions

Hi bollox!

I applied to Georgetown and Loyola Chicago but I won't be hearing back from either of them for awhile. Loyola's deadline was May 1st and I'm waitlisted at Georgetown, but I'm hoping to hear decisions from them by early June. I've been pretty stressed out about this whole thing but I'm hoping that things will pull through and work out. I didn't apply to more schools than I would have liked to because at the time, I was applying late and missed a lot of deadlines (or rather, deadlines that I knew of lols). If I don't get in this time around, I'm definitely going to start applying to Spring programs and get working. How about you? Where else did you apply?

I also have a May 17th deposit due date...

I called NYU's admissions office about two weeks ago to see if they could at least give me a more definitive date since I was accepted to another school but NYU was my first choice. I was told that the only thing they could say was that I would likely hear during the month of May. So.... I am still waiting.....

I suggest those who that are still waiting to check if you actually get a Net ID. My net ID had my initials then 3 other numbers. This will mostlikely mean you got accepted if you can get this because you will have an email. I found out a week before I received my letter as did other people.

Just for people who are curious. Tuition for 1 semester is 20K. That's not including rent, etc. As far as finaincial aid... I believe I recieved 5K in scholarship, 5K in stafford, 7K in unsubsidized... I needed to have around 90K just to have a comfortable living during my time in NY... 73K after scholarship/school loans. Being that I already got accepted to a school closer to home, I decided to go there because it was CHEAPER and the financial aid package was a lot better. Good luck to those who are applying for NYU. Don't get so stressed out... I'm sure you guys will get in! As I've said before my grades WERE not the best and I got in.

I'm not sure if NYU sends out acceptance letters for all of their programs at the same time but my friend just received her acceptance letter on Saturday for the traditional BSN program so I'm assuming that letters are just starting to go out.

HI all,

Just keepng the thread alive! Still waiting and keeping myself busy in the meantime with finals and summer plans.

Good luck to all!

I've been accepted! Yaaaay! With all my transcript shenanigans, I thought this was never going to happen. I'm so excited! :yeah:

Congratulations!!! I can only imagine the excitement. Out of curiosity what is the date marked on your letter.

Thanks! The date was marked May 6th. I had a lot of waiting going on since I had a transcript that didn't arrive..twice :uhoh3:. The first time, it just never arrived and the second time around, it got sent to the wrong address. It finally got to NYU the third time around and I swear, the whole process gave me the worst anxiety for the past month or so. I was definitely thinking that after all of this, I didn't have a great chance of getting in but it happened! I got the letter when I was least expecting it so I'm very sure you'll hear something soon if you haven't already. Easier said than done, but hang tight because I'm sure that letter is definitely on its way. Good luck!

Hey all,

I just called NYU b/c I was freaking out about the netid thing...Last night I was convinced that I could gain access to that portal and I did!!! I have an email and everything....I barely slept last night and I was very hesitant to call nyu to finally find out, and after hours of anxiety I decided to call them and they told me over the phone that I got accepted!!!

Woohoooooooo!!! I hope to see u all this fall at NYU. Congrats to all of you and hang tight to those that haven't yet...I would call them if you haven't heard anything yet by now...My application apparently was incomplete and after days they finally found one of my transcript and I GOT ACCEPTED!

=)

congrats to you all that have recently found out you were accepted! ill be seeing you at nyu in the fall!

Congrats to all of you guys. My friend is still weighing the options, she got into the tradition program as a transfer and her acceptance to our current school is pending her HESI results. The cost is going to be a big thing for her and also the fact that she might have to take a pre-req because our nursing program doesn't require nutrition.

A lot of people that got rejected or told to go part-time from my school's program applied to NYU as a backup (they were rejected/forced to go part-time for failing the HESI). I've already been accepted to my school's program but toyed with the idea of applying to NYU but the tuition scared me off. I got a really good financial aid package from my schol and NYU is nearly 6K more a semester.
