I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions
hahaha. joe nurse, thats how much i will have to pay for my nursing degree? lol too much. anyway for that person that called the office and they told them they were accepted without having a reason, how do u approach the question? i will call tomorrow and check if my file is complete, should i just say "ok its complete? right? good.. then so...am i accepted? lol
tots-congrats on getting accepted. would u share ur grades and other credentialsomg everyone getting accepted seems like they accept anyone with a gpa higher than a 3.0..and then they will stop accepting once they have filled all spots. that is what it seems like.
I graduated with a 3.5 from a private liberal arts school in the midwest and my pre-req GPA is 4.0. I volunteered at a children's hospital for a year and the Ronald McDonald House. I also spent the last two summers working at a summer camp for kids with chronic and critical illnesses upstate. Genu9ine, I'm hoping my essays helped too because I spent FOREVER thinking about that stupid haiku and the movie about my life. So silly.

I think you're talking about me? When I called I just told them I had been accepted to another school but that NYU was my first choice. I didn't ask to be told my decision, I just asked when we'd hear anything back. I really wasn't expecting to hear today since I know other people have called and were just told to wait. I just wanted to know when to start looking in the mail!
I would say that if you've gotten in somewhere else or have another hurdle (moving, more pre-reqs, etc) you should give them a call. There's no guarantee that they'll tell you over the phone, but the least they can do is give you a rough timeframe.

Hahaha I ended up spending forever on those little essays too! About essays, which New Yorker did people end up picking to spend a day with? I chose Stephen Colbert, lols. I wonder how that's going to fly with admissions

so i didn't really choose a person, i actually made someone up. i did it so that i could tie it into myself... it was pretty cheesy lol.
Reading posts about them calling the Office only to find out that certain docs are missing or they need more clarification on things makes me want to call the office. Did anyone try to inquire via email instead? I'm trying to not bug so much via phone? I'm beginning to wonder if my application status is still pending and not CP or complete b/c I mentioned that a 3rd LOR (letter of rec) was on its way but decided not to do it. Any suggestions on my situation? Should I just assume that although I told a counselor I intended to re-submit a 3rd LOR and didnt s/he decided to input my file as "complete" and forward it for review. Should I just email??
Thanks. Getting way too paranoid ...

I might not go to NYU though. I'm pretty much sold on the 12 months accelerated program at University of Miami. Tuition for an undergraduate degree at NYU is just ridiculous......$72,000 tuition (and that does not include room and board, books, living expenses which come up to almost $100,000) JUST RIDICULOUS!
