NYU Accel. BSN Fall 2010

I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions

Are all of you applicants to the accelerated program? I started a new thread and it seems that there are no traditional transfer students receiving acceptance letters..

Hey Jason,

I noticed the same thing about traditional transfer students not receiving a decision yet. I'm one of them actually, and I'm getting really anxious. Lol

just wondering, but is the admissions process for traditional nursing students any different than other students trying to transfer for other majors? like... should u all find out earlier than them? because, i saw on the college confidential forum that transfer students won't find out until may.

i applied to the accelerated program. and i sent my app in the middle of Feb... she also told me that those applicants that hear first have a "complete" application. so my only suggestion is to call and ask to speak with an admissions counselor. Ask him/her if there are any questions or concerns regarding your app. the 2 people i spoke with (today and monday) were very helpful. the small issue with one of my transcripts seemed to be the hold up in my case.

Oh god. I just called NYU and they said that they haven't received one of my transcripts so my app hasn't even been reviewed! I called last time and they said that they couldn't check my materials at the time so this is...AAAUUUUGHS. I even got that transcript sent right away too, paying extra for it. This means that I won't find out for awhile now, ughs.

the good thing about it is that at least you know! who knows when you would have found out if you never called and asked!

yes, same in my case! i would have been waiting as well. as annoying as we all are calling to harass them, they have so many apps to sort through so it makes sense that they would focus on complete applications first. glad you called to sort it out. and rest easy, i'm sure you'll be fine.

Hmmm.. I think that is a line they have to recite to all students who call in early to get a decleration of their acceptance over the phone. I personally called them a few days ago to ask about my status and they told first told me they did not have all of my transcripts, which is pretty funny because I sent my transcripts in along with my recommendation letters in a single packet. My friend also called to check on his application and he, too, was told the same thing. But he had also sent all of his documents in one envelope. I wouldn't be too surprised if they actually received your transcript and just have not sorted through all of the documents they've received yet because they have tons of documents to sort through.. just give it some time.

Guys do not worry too much. I was accepted to the NYU accelerated program as well with a 3.18 GPA from my previous degree and a 4.0 in my prerequisites. BTW, they accepted me even though I am taking A&P I now and will take A&P II and micro during the summer.

I'm glad too lols. I was just really shocked to hear that from them over the phone because everything else I had sent made it just fine. It was just kind of mind boggling because I've been having total anxiety about hearing from NYU, only to discover that I've been stressing over an un-reviewed application :confused:. I think the admissions counselor could tell that my stress levels were rising too because my voice got kind of shaky (trying hard not to freak out over the phone lols) and I was just like, "UHHH." She says that as long as I turn in another transcript, everything should be fine and it won't affect my application (I hope!).

Thanks for all the support everyone! Hopefully, this next transcript won't get "lost" this time around lols

tots-congrats on getting accepted. would u share ur grades and other credentials

omg everyone getting accepted seems like they accept anyone with a gpa higher than a 3.0..and then they will stop accepting once they have filled all spots. that is what it seems like.
