I just started my application for NYU's ABSN program for Fall 2010. I heard they might not even be accepting applications for fall yet, though, since the spring deadline was only about a week ago. Is anyone else applying here for fall? Also, does anyone know what their average GPA for accepted students is? Would it help to submit my GRE scores even though they don't require it? Sorry I know its a lot of questions but I'm already nervous for admissions
hey court for ur BS r u getting ur degree in a nyc school? and Jason.. for the adelphi program is it only for people who dont have a bachelor's degree? i think thats why i didnt apply. and i think its a 3 year program is that so? i am interested in accelerated but u r doing traditional right? thanks for listing ur grades... lol but i see ull be transferring (good luck to u)!!!
i'm graduating from iona college in new rochelle, ny so not exactly nyc but close lol
Congratulations to for those of you who got in. My application has been on hold for the last year, waiting to be reviewed until all of my prerequisites are finished. I applied to NYU’s BSN Accelerated program for the Fall of ’09, since I already have a B.A. on something else. My application was not great, neither was my gpa. So I’m guessing that after a year of waiting (along with other schools), once they review my application, it will be rejected. However, I would like to know soon because I plan to go out of the country this Sept. Anyhow, do you guys think this is good or bad? For those who were accepted, do you have any prerequisite currently in progress? I do.
After months of waiting by the mailbox and seeing my Molloy acceptance on the table, I finally got anxious and called the admissions office. I was accepted! She told me that my packet hasn't been mailed yet, but I should look for it to arrive within the next few weeks.
Also, for anyone else driving themself crazy with the NedID thing, mine still doesn't work. :)
I'm so excited!

congrats!
With everyone making calls to NYU, I'm anxious to call them myself, lols. But then again, I just might be met with another student ambassador who is going to tell me different so I should probably just wait! I'm anxious too so for those of you who haven't heard back yet, I'm right there with you! I'm totally there with everyone taking classes too. I'm taking Microbiology and I have a test coming up soon. SOO not what I need in addition to this app anxiety!!!
Again, a big fat congratulations to those who have already been accepted! :)
hey all! congrats everyone... and... i'm in!!! i tried the netid thing today and it worked. so i couldn't help but call and she was able to give me an answer over the phone. i cannot believe it! for those of you still waiting... i called on monday b/c i couldn't help myself :) and luckily i did b/c there were having an issue with one of my transcripts that i was able to easily sort out. when i told her how anxious i was, she said (with my app open in front of her), "i don't see why we wouldn't offer you acceptance with your strong pre-req grades." when i mentioned that i was concerned about my undergrad gpa (3.2 in journalism from Univ. of CO) and she said "I wouldn't worry too much about that too much". so for those of you still waiting, just be confident that you've done well and try to say positive. i really do believe that you'll all be fine.
and in case you're wondering, my credentials:
Chemistry - A
A&P I - A
A&P II - in progress
Micro - in progress
Stats - A
Nutrition - B
Dev. psych - A
Volunteer experience: hospital, SPCA, south african orphanage for 1 month
Good luck to everyone!

When did you submit your app? The Assistant Director of admissions told me I wouldn't hear back until May and I submitted by the priority deadline. I'm so eager! I kind of want to call myself

If you have all of the prereqs then you go straight into the nursing courses. The program is going to change beginning this fall, and all of the students entering in the fall semester or later will get their BSN in 4 semesters (that is, as long as you've completed your prereqs).
You can visit this link to find out more about the undergrad nursing program.
