Nursing shoes that aren't clogs

I am looking for a pair of shoes for nursing school that aren't clogs. I just can't seem to walk in them and I'm fearful that I will break my ankle wearing clogs. Are there any non-clog type nursing shoes that offer good support and comfort?

This might sound a little gross, but I've been wearing the same pear of white Reebok low tops for the past 3 years. They met nursing school's basic requirement of being [mostly] impermeable to fluids, and by now they have most certainly proven that quality. Since then I've been through a couple of Dr. Scholl's insoles for extra arch support and comfort.

I like the Nurse Mates brand.

Alegria makes some nice nursing shoes and they have some styles that are not clogs. They are very comfortable and have lots of cute colors, but can be expensive.

I wear sneakers. New Balance usually.

I used to wear crocs a lot.

I used to swear by my SASs. Have also had good experiences with NurseMates.

Asics. LOVE EM. Get em at Famous Footwear, usually a good BOGO sale going on. Lots of cool bright colors to choose from. VERY comfy.

If you aren't into fashion, New Balance has been my shoe of choice for many years. Add in some Dr. Shoal's and start 'gellin.'

I wear all-white Air Jordan high tops. I need the ankle support that high tops give due to a chronically inflamed tendon in my ankle.

When I first got them, a male night nurse practically drooled all over them! Apparently, they are hard to find in all white.

I have worn Avias for years, you most likely need an all white shoe and that will be difficult to find. I also use insoles to pad and give extra support.
