Nursing shoes that aren't clogs

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

I am looking for a pair of shoes for nursing school that aren't clogs. I just can't seem to walk in them and I'm fearful that I will break my ankle wearing clogs. Are there any non-clog type nursing shoes that offer good support and comfort?

I wear bright blue and neon green Nike trainers. Can walk all day and my feet don't hurt. Plus they start a bit of conversation. Less than 50 bucks at the outlet, can't beat that.

I have worn Avias for years, you most likely need an all white shoe and that will be difficult to find. I also use insoles to pad and give extra support.

Yes the all white thing is a problem. I am gonna keep searching.

If you can wear sneakers, there should be lots of all white styles.

Alegria are my favorite. Yes, they are expensive, but they feel like you are walking on clouds and they last!

Brooks Addiction comes in an all-white leather. They are definitely not going to help you make a fashion statement, but they are comfortable and have lots of support. One pair got me all the way through nursing school and I don't remember exactly how much I paid for them but it was

Thanks guys comfort is my number on concern followed by price. Not concerned about fashion statements. Ain't got time for that nonsense. :) I currently live in scrubs (for work) or my "mom uniform" (yoga pants and tank top). Fashion is not high on my list right now.

Reebok princess low tops. (They even come in high tops, should you want ankle support). You can put an insert in them or not. They are soft leather, conform to one's foot well, even come in wide. And are all white.

Love em !

I just did an online search on those. They got breathable holes on the top of them. Are those allowed for nursing school?

I have two pairs of Keens and two pairs of Pearl Izumi running shoes. They are all really comfortable and I alternate which ones I wear. There are several shoe stores in my town that actually give health care workers a discount -- don't forget to ask!
