only in nursing school

only in nursing school...does instructor A contact instructor B to validate if you were in fact ill when you emailed to say you were sick last week. then instructor A confronts you because you attended an exam worth 33% of your grade in instructor B's class. dont they have papers to grade or something to do other than investigate the reasons for my absence?! Im a senior in nursing school. You are my instructor. If I dont want to come to class I dont have to tell you. I was just being courteous. And I was sick! :angryfire

what are yours?

Im almost done and so glad its almost over!!! :smokin:

only in NS would have to take a field trip to the art museum and have to do a care plan for a person in a painting as an assignment. Seriously?? Apparently it's the school's way of integrating the arts into the curicululm or some crap like that.

..."This person was painted in blue tones, which probably means she's depressed. Nursing diagnosis: Ineffective Coping r/t BEING IN A PAINTING!"

Only in nursing school can you study 24-7 to prepare for an exam and STILL not pass!

Isn't that the truth!

Only in nursing school is it considered accepted to to have 200+ students failing Nursing 3 out of about 250 and say that it is the students and not the curriculum or the instructors. (Happening to my friend at another nursing school, normally a straight A student!)

Yup. Straight from the syllabus:

Humanities are expressed by the Art Museum trip. The students find a painting they like, pick out one character in the painting and write a care plan for that person.

sighs...some of these nursing schools are patronizers...

I will not recommend to be sick in nursing school. I have learned that they pay attention to your attendance and if something is with your grades, they count it against you. They are very concern about good relationshi with clinical sites.

I might be missing something too.

Only in nursing school could a student who previously earned A's in their pre-reqs score just enough points to pass the nursing courses and be happy with that!

I once called in because there was a fire in my house. They called a classmate who lives in the same small town to find out if it was true.

Only in nursing school is it completely acceptable to have practice medical equipment stored in your car and your house. I have tons of syringes and needles. Not to mention the IV tubing that I laid on top of my fridge...

Its funny that you say that because as I was reading your post I was bringing down my box of needles to practice tehe

Could you imagine being pulled over by the police and they search your car and give you a ticket for "possession of drug paraphenalia"!!!! Then you go to court and say,"Your Honor! I am a nursing student!!!"

Only in nursing school do you see some fellow classmates deliberately wear their lab jackets when they are out at a restaurant. I seriously wanted to get up and walk up to them and be like "Do you think anyone really cares?"
