Does anyone here do nursing for money only? + maybe with little reason?
How do you cope with the job if so, like in terms of your moral adjustment
For me, I don't like direct care, and i don't believe in many things that hospital do to patients.
I go for job security in short time of study.
pls only reply if you can relate.. thank u

Im in it mainly for the money. I definitely did NOT go into nursing for some noble purpose. It's something I enjoy and it's a stable job.
I'm curious what you don't like or don't believe about the things done in hospital?
and you really can't dictate who responds.

I work for money.
I am a nurse because I believe in higher mission.
I work in a corporate setting because it allows me to have a greater gross impact upon healthcare and it is much more financially rewarding.

Yes, in that it's not a hobby and I wouldn't do the job if I weren't being paid but I wouldn't say "the money" is the reason I chose nursing.

You can be moral and ethical without blowing the religious horn and earn a living.

100% for the money and I will 300% more than I did at my last job. My only regret is not doing nursing much earlier

Money was my motivation for becoming a nurse, but I do enjoy my work. Actually, I pretty much enjoy anything I happen to get caught up with. I "bloom where I am planted", you might say. I can turn into anything or anyone I need to be to get through the day. If you're less adaptable, that's something to consider.

The vast majority got into this for financial security.
Those that say they did it because they were "called".. need a psych consult.

Where else can you make such decent money with just an associates degree?
You can make some big bucks in nursing, and it's an interesting/rewarding job. Great field to be in.

Sign me up for that psych consult because nursing IS my calling. Yes the pay is nice but I really do enjoy it and have taken a pay cut to do what I love. I just hate people like you that judge people that feel like they are called to nursing. I don't judge you for doing nursing for the money.

The voices in my head told me to do it. ; )
In all seriousness, I am passionate about my job and love what I do. I can't see myself in any other career. Believe me, I thought long and hard about this. That being said, I wouldn't do nursing if it didn't pay well. I have a family to support.

I work because I need money to live in the world, not having been born into a royal family. I work in nursing because I like it better than child care or fast food or retail, having done them all.
I don't think of my job in terms of morality or calling, I am not a nun and I don't work as a nurse for religious reasons. It's good money for the number of hours I work, that's about it. When I am willing to get by with less money, I will retire for good!
