Any hospital hiring new grads? anywhere in the country?

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Does anyone know of any hospital that are currently hiring new grads without any experience? I graduated May '09, and it's so hard finding a job without experience. Thanks.

RNBelle, could you please name a few or a couple cities? I have never been to TX but I am interested. Do you know if they would offer assistance in moving such as trying to find me a place to stay or giving me extra $$ for the move?

All over the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex, including the smaller cities maybe not QUITE in the metroplex. I'm in Sherman, about 60 miles north of DFW and they ALWAYS are hiring RNs here. And I know you don't have to have a BSN...you should see some of the RNs around here. Scariness. But others are awesome!

Specializes in LTC/Skilled Care/Rehab.
No unfortunately for me I did not have any extern experience. I have been told by quite a few hospitals that is the only way I am getting in right now. And the semester I started nursing school made me ineligible to become one. I am trying to become certified in various things instead in order to help me (I am scheduled to take ACLS in 2 weeks), I have gone to a few job fairs, and am about to resort to stalking the hospitals next week (walking in and asking to speak with someone) They are hiring new grads...with experience. Unfortunately for the rest of the people in my class that were not able to get extern jobs before hand they are having a lot harder time of it.

Don't feel too bad....I have a year of extern experience and still can't find a job. I am thinking about taking ACLS...how much are the classes?

I know the Cleveland Clinic hires new grads.... we are expanding units left and right and need nurses to fill the positions!

I've graduated from nursing school a couple of months ago. Now I just started applying for jobs. Does anyone know of any hospitals that will hire new grads? I would be more than willing to relocate so I'm open to just about any location. Also, is there any specific website that is better for searching for new grad Nursing Jobs?

Specializes in ER, urgent care.

Almost same thing here in Oregon. I'm waiting for my NCLEX date and have applied for a couple of jobs, no luck yet even with 19yrs as a paramedic.

Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, TX! I was hired as a new grad in oncology! I believe there are quite a few openings in the clinics or hospital. Alot of med/surg positions! Visit their website http://www.tmfhs.org! They offer new grads all types of incentives for relocated and are more than willing to teach you everything you need to know! I relocated to gain experience, I moved here from MN because there were absolutely no jobs! I love it here! let me know if you have any questions!

Do they have a residency program? Or do they just hire into a specific unit? I am just wondering because I am definitely willing to relocate too as IA is not hiring right now (and I am ready to get out of here:wink2:)..and it is hard to find hospitals that are hiring new grads.

Anywhere in West TX. San Angelo, Uvalde, Del Rio, Eagle Pass, even big cities like San Antonio. Some will offer moving assistance or sign on bonuses. You just gotta do your research.

Specializes in Vents, Telemetry, Home Care, Home infusion.

Oh wow that's horrible! Where are you from? I am in Michigan and the ACLS courses run $165 to $300. I am driving an hour away from home to go to the $165 one for only 1 day. Most are 2 days.

New Grads are welcome in Syracuse NY.

Upstate University Hospital, Crouse Hospital and Community General Hospital are all hiring new grads.

Have you tried smaller hospitals and long term care facilities? I know around here, a lot of the positions are filled by April before the grads in May get their license. They are hired pending licensure, and fill up the slots. Near fall, its very hard to find a job. However I recently applied after taking the summer off to the hospital, a psych hospital, a long term care facility, a hospice facility, and a long term care neuro center, and got back interviews from the hospital, the psych hospital, and the neuro center. I got job offers from all 3, and am a new grad with no experience. Just trying to decide on what is best for me at this time. This is in North Carolina, an hour east of Raleigh and an hour west of Greenville. I was also hired in Greenville at the huge teaching hospital there but had to turn that job down as well.
