You know how you have that one favorite pen that fits just right in your hand and writes so smoothly? You get very attached to it....and then, much to your dismay it seems to grow legs and disappears. Be prepared by stocking up so you'll always have a backup.

I don't know why I don't like writing with pens that thin! I just can't.

my new fave is 1.6!

My fetish is papermate 'inkjoy" it has good ink drag/feel. and the papermate inkjoy 4 color. when i do my working report, black for things people say (like report) blue for things I find out (like observations, notes) , red for things I do (prns etc) green for the stuff i do on the second of a double shift. the pens are white and a little harder to loose than black. sometimes I put a long colored ribbon on them so it catches my eye if it falls under something. like the medex.

Hehehe! The secret of keeping a pen for long is to make sure you do not loan it out even for a second! The advise is: always carry an extra cheap pen that you can readily loan out and not have a heart attack when it grows legs!! The other time I had just an ordinary black ballpoint and a resident was to sign his discharge form for controlled drugs to take home with him. I offered him my pen and within seconds, he claimed that he had just used his own pen!! I was shocked and did not want to argue over it, only to find his pen lying on the bed under his novel that he was reading!! He apologized but he had just done my head in!!!!

I use whatever you left lying around.

Ooh, InkJoy is what I would buy if I ever stopped stealing pens from my dr's office. I might have to go buy some red ones for taking off orders.

Me either, it feels like digging a needle into the paper.

A pencil? on a legal record? That a..umm... novel idea.

Yo, bro.

My favorite pens are the Uniball Signo (gel) and the Uniball Jetstream (ballpoint). Super smooth & comfortable to write with, and don't bleed. So much better than Pilot!

I don't chart with a pencil. I use the pencil for the notes in my pocket (which is strictly VS and labs; I don't even carry brains). Everything legal gets done on the computer.

... manage to hang onto them by keeping a less-valuable pen or two in my apron or scrubs for when people need them.

Decoy pens...very suave!

Specializes in cardiac-telemetry, hospice, ICU.

Uniball, black, extra fine. And you can borrow it when you pry it from my cold dead hands. Don't ask.
