I am on the nurse week committee planning activities this year. We are planning a scavenger hunt, when you find the item you will post your find to our Facebook page. I am considering having them "find" people from support departments It, environmental, good service ect. But what other things could i have them find? Or do?

Pony Rides? That was suggested on another thread. If they love scavenger hunts they would love pony rides too!
Okay, serious answer:
Gift cards
GCerts for free hours of PTO
GCerts for free scrubs and gear...
That sort of thing.
PS - I don't think they can find things (especially people) around the hospital and post them to FB. That is a HIPAA violation, an OSHA/infection control nightmare. It's an act of moral turpitude which is reportable to the BON and the FBI, and it is a felony. To be safe from all that, I'd just hide the GCs in their mailboxes and/or slide them through the locker vents.

A scavenger hunt for nurses.
Do you think the nurses aren't busy enough?
Are you a troll?

Kitiger...you just don't get it. It's for nurse's week...you know...motivational/team building...that kind of stuff. But not to worry about being too busy; you can't interrupt your shift with this so we'll just require you come in on your day off to participate. Goodey, goodey, fun, fun, clap, clap!!
I'd go with gift cards to the local liquor store.

I may be young at heart, but I am not a child. This sort of nurses day/week activity drives me crazy. The only sort of recognition I want is a monetary bonus and respect. Since I guess the budget doesn't run to bonuses for nurses, then just don't give me anything at all! That would be more respectful than cheap trinkets with the hospital logo on them.
I'm not mad at you, I know you're just doing what has been done in the past, but really, it needs to stop as far as I'm concerned. Although the pony rides are intriguing....

This is my most favorite response ever.
Also, I inherently cringed reading that FB was going to be involved with this unit-approved activity. But I'm very much against mixing social media with your professional life. Actually I'm not a fan of social media at all which is why I don't have it, but when I did I definitely didn't do anything related to my job.

If you'd like a good activity, how about having people take over patient care for an actual, uninterrupted lunch break? Our facility always has a big lunch/dinner and you know who's at it? Management. (Nothing against managers, just sayin') Then they come up to the floor after all is said and done and are like "Gosh, why didn't you come down for our awesome meal we put together?"

I would never....and I mean NEVER......using the word NEVER here!!!....attach my FB profile to something associated with the hospital FB page. That just crosses the boundary too far between my personal and professional life.

What if they don't have Facebook? I never had a FB account and despise that everything is FB based. Not everyone is signed up, so for the nurses who aren't on FB are they exempt? How does that work?

Well you could have the administration (NOT the nurses) 'find' more staff, realistically, that's all the nurses really care about. Other than that, your scavenger hunt idea is stupid, rediculous and highly insulting. Especially the bonehead idea of posting to Fakebook.
Good God.....is this all you got?
