News Flash Everybody Farts!

Published

I have read a couple of posts lately where people are complaining about people farting breaking wind, passing gas etc...

What exactly is the big deal? The average person farts 14 to 20 times a day and if you say you don't fart you're either lying or you are an alien species.

Yes it can be gross and smell bad but it's like poop it just happens sometimes.

Um I think I just broke the internet there...whoopsies...

Ive never heard of this.

Seems like every day I learn about a new reason that I dont want to have children.

My thoughts exactly. I'm starting to go the ole route, if I want children I'll adopt. Runs to go hide in a corner. -21 year old

It's a matter of decorum- Behavior in keeping with good taste and propriety.

Excuse yourself from others or take beano.

I'm very happy that I don't work this person.

As director of a home health agency, I got a call one day from the irate wife of a patient, who was extremely upset over a physical therapist who farted while treating her husband. She demanded that I do something about the "farting problem". I apologized to her for the PT, but said there's not a whole lot to be done, except talk to the PT to request he excuse himself for a moment, and go outside. She was fine with that.

Let me guess...you wouldn't want her to be your nurse either, right??

On the postop unit I used to work, some of the surgeons kept patients on clear liquids until they passed gas. One poor hungry lady made herself a sign that said "Will fart for food." We were all happy for her when she finally did.

I was thinking of this thread at work today when my lactose intolerance was violated with yummy cheese and I was feeling the effects about the same time a patient on my locked psychiatric inpatient unit was trying to break out and we were blocking the door. I should have just blasted him. :barf02:

So . . . this thread came to mind tonight as the bean dip I brought to the unit for Super Bowl Sunday is making its presence known. Thank heavens for cushy chairs, personal fans, and individual cubbies!

I have IBS, I also had a colostomy for two years from birth. Thankfully I was lucky enough to have it reversed. I try to keep my farts in until I'm in private, but thankfully in the ER there is usually patients I can blame it on. Im sure eventually they'll catch on to me .....but what can you do?
