New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@ irin and glitzdelight: thank you so much for the quick response!

Got one more question in mind, is it okay for the unit supervisor to be the one to sign the CV in behalf of the employer? or does it need to be the chief nursing officer?

thank you so much guys!

Hi there, I have been following this trend for couple of months already and I am really glad that I did, since it helped me a lot in processing my application in AHPRA for the eligibility letter..

I would like to share that my application process took less that 2 months wherein I applied in Victoria.. I just received my letter of eligibility this morning.. I wish us all luck and progress.. I encourage you guys to apply in Victoria for it process very fast than expected..

I just have one question, Anyone here knows if there is a September/October intake on any Bridging Course on any school in Au? I am actually stuck in SG for work and planning to go there by that time..Thank you so much!..

Hello, I am also currently looking for a school.

do you guys happen to know if Holy Week is also implemented as holiday in Australia? :) thanks!

Yup. Public Holidays from Good Friday until Monday. :)

Hi. I think it's better for the chief nurse to sign it :)

ok thank you! :)

Hi everyone! A little help please, please.. Has anyone tried getting a Mantoux test or PPD with a positive result?

Hi. I think it's better for the chief nurse to sign it :)

thanks for the advice! :)

But has anyone here tried to have the supervisor's signature for the CV instead of the chief nurse's signature? our chief's nurse is sort of busy.. :c

i know it's hard to find sponsorship nowadays, but do you by any chance, know some place where I'll have a higher chance of getting a sponsor? Or some tips?

And if ever my visa expires and I have to return to my country, what should be my next step so I can still find an employer while I'm overseas?

Mine was positive.

most Filipinos have a + result for ppd because we are highly exposed to the bacteria. if the result is positive, ask your doctor to order a cxr, when the cxr is negative submit both result and cxr. I read some past posts here and that's what they did, you can search that in this thread..

Hi @3739 - If you happen to see any school open for "ber" months.. please let me know also.. Which month/date are you looking at? Thank you.. :-)

Hi everyone! I've been lurking here for quite some time already and have plans to submit to APHRA myself. But I recently learned about the ARNTP that UniSA is offering. I've attended a seminar they conducted here 2 years ago but didn't buy it because the initial fees they said would cost almost 2M. And now upon inquiring with IDP, I learned it's not that much then at the same time, they have intakes on October and I would be a good candidate if I have the requirements. May I just ask anyone here who had done that program or is taking the one this April and how is it? After the program once you've passed will you be registered at once? And how is it with APHRA since they are the regulating body? Thank you :)
