Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

hi ey-em ive been to australia but under a student visa...i was able to study sa short course which was 7 monthsnin duration...however im still confused and quite furious because im still waitingnfor con's reply atm.. thanks fornthe info :)
I've been in Australia as well for almost 2 years under a student visa. I saved up for my BP while working as an AIN. Lol! So you are aiming for CON as well? Good luck! CON could sometimes really get into your nerves, I know. I hope we get a chance to meet in Sydney someday. I will be attending the April intake of CON with gl25. I just hope we meet other prospective classmates in this forum.

I lodged it February 2011 and got the LOE October 2011. That's 8 loooooooooooooong months. I have a dear friend from work who is also a Filipino RN (staying in Oz under a student visa) who still haven't received his LOE. He's been waiting for a year now.

What's the rate of approval for a tourist visa application if you're an RN and the main purpose of travel is not only for holiday but to get my registration personally? Will DIAC accept a letter from AHPRA stating that I need to personally validate my identity to any AHPRA office?

I don't think you'll ever gonna find a BP provider that will take you in with your IELTS status expiring soon. I suggest you take the test as soon as you can.
