New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

[color=#454545]your application is currently in the queue awaiting assessment. however, as soon as you arrive in australia and are able to provide evidence of a local address and/or an offer of employment, your application will be placed in a more advanced queue and attended to sooner. nonetheless, we remain unable to state a timeframe for the assessment of your application to be processed.

[color=#454545]if you arrive in australia please present yourself in person at any ahpra office in australia within 6 weeks, with originals and copies of your passport, visa, proof of local residential address and/or offer of employment. we look forward to seeing you at one of our offices.

yes we are under non award subclass. for Philippines, subclass 575 is under assessment level 1.. check this diac site: Non Award Sector: Temporary Visa (Subclass 575) - Assessment Level 2

thank you so much, ychelle! i couldn't help you with the health undertaking but this is actually the first time i've heard of it. i really hope it's no biggie and this will be the last of your trials =) keep staying positive, dear =) law of attraction! =)

hi...as per my experience nad some of the con applicants i knew here submitted the immunization records with all the necessary requirements to be able to have a slot for the earliest possible intake...however im not so sure if other records or documents necessary to become successful for the course application can be handed on a late date...

oh ok. thanks for this info! the contact person from con doesn't reply right away. and i've heard that there are lots of applicants and that those found eligible still do not have the specific intake dates in their COE =( i still haven't completed my immunisation and so i can't email con my docs yet. have to get done with the other shots the soonest. thanks again =)

Yes AAON is cricos registered. For a 3 month program, i think we can either go for 456 or 575. The validity of both visas will depend on the length of the course, you have to exit before it expires. However, if you were able to apply for extension or convert it to like tourist visa or bridging visa (while waiting for conversion of your student to working given that your has nominated you), then you can extend your stay. Btw, i am for AAON April intake, but still waiting for visa approval. I hope i gave you some useful info.

hi ailene313! i'm just curious why your agent opted that you do the 575 instead when it has shorter duration compared to 456? isn't it 456 can be multiple entries within a duration of 1 year but of 3months max per stay?

when will AAON's April intake commence? =)

oh and i'm having a hard time uploading all the necessary files to be emailed to AAON since the capacity exceeds 10MB. is there any easier way to send the scanned files to them? :)

i really hope you get your visa the soonest =) you will, attract it! thank you so much =)

yeah and we are all having the same rants and complaints...theyre accepting more and more applicants while obviously they cannot accomodate them all...too bad!

hi cummulus. AAON intake will commence on 4th of April. Considering the very tight period, I was convinced by my agent that when lodged online, the processing time will be shorter. She can actually assist me if I really wanted to file for 456, however, it will be lodged here in Manila. I believe that 2 week visa processing time here in manila is impossible. So, I trust her words and decided to apply for 575. You can send your files using a single pdf file attachment. Scan your docs. Copy and paste your scanned docs to microsoft word one at a time. After you have put them together in one MS word file, save it as pdf file. Hope this can help.

Well finally got my respoonse from AAON- I was not successful in obtainig the final spot. The reason being a large number of applicants. Now the problem l have is that, my LOE expires in June and l don't have a school!!! Does AHPRA grant extensions on LOE?? Any suggestions for the way forward??? I'm now confused!!!

hey nicole.za. hmmm. were you hoping to be in the april intake? and did aaon confirm that the april intake is the one that is already full? if you can find a way for ahpra to extend your loe, then do so. then come back to aaon and ask if you can be qualified in their june intake instead? =(

@ Cummulus- My hopes were for the April intake. I sent a request for extension at AHPRA, l hope something will come up. The letter from AAoN stated that the next available intake is in August!!!!.... :-(

hi nicole! oh no =( i hope you get a speedy reply from ahpra =( if you can, try ringing them the soonest. if this is true about aaon, then we are on the same boat though i've been wanting to be in the june intake =( if it's not too much too ask, may i know who's your contact person in aaon? kindly pm me, dear.

now i'm thinking, we should think ahead and check out intakes in other BP providers. i think IHNA and CON have intakes on june and july respectively though CON is quite a little complicated right now =(
