Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

@ychelle ann: sorry i cant reply to your pm. Yes i am applying for student visa as advised by my migation agent. She told me that we can get the visa in 14 days, i trust her and I am praying hard for speedy processing. If your visa application was lodged online, then you may view the receipt and status online. Go to the site, click on 'check online processing', select the type of visa you applied for, then fill in your transaction reference number, birthdate, and passport number. My agent also forwarded to me the email from DIAC acknowledging my application and another email from perth offshore processing asking for my meducal exam results. As of this moment, uploading of my medical exam results still ongoing according to nationwide health systems. Once done, i will advise my agent to ring the case officer that the results are already encoded.I am praying that I can get the approval early next week so I will have time to prepare.Call the clinic where you had your medical, then ask them if your files are already in the system.Tell your agent that you want to view the status of your application online.I will include you in my prayers that u get yours in time. God bless!
hi ailene! just read this =) so 575 is also student visa? anyway, i'll be following your footsteps and hopefully, everything will turn out ok. and i really do hope that the issuance of visa is just within 14 days! crossing my fingers dear =) are you for the april intake of aaon? share the good news once you have your visa! goodluck dear =)
hello! does anyone have an idea as to the length of stay/duration that diac grants to student 575 visas? it says in the website that for a course that lasts for 10 months or less, the duration is additional one month to the real course duration. so in our case, if bp lasts for 12 weeks roughly 3 months, only 4 months will be given? can anyone confirm? how about the possibility of being granted multiple entry or even extension? tia =)
hi! anybody who can help me out here? or have been in this situation? i lodged my application directly to australia thu e-visa.. now they are asking me to sign a health undertaking.. the email says:
[color=#b22222]a health undertaking is required for visa applicants who have evidence of exposure to tuberculosis or other diseases of concern. by signing form 815 you are agreeing to telephone the health undertaking service (hus) within four (4) weeks of your arrival in australia. you will then be required to attend a relevant health clinic and to follow the treatment or directions of the clinic director.
so i signed the form and immediately sent it. yes i know i am exposed to tb patients, but my chest xray this feb 6 is normal.. i have no symptoms or anything.. is it just a protocol of the embassy for those health workers exposed or you think they found something on my xray during the medicals?
i really need some enlightenment on this.. thanks for any replies! thanks! :)

yes we are under non award subclass. for Philippines, subclass 575 is under assessment level 1.. check this diac site: Non Award Sector: Temporary Visa (Subclass 575) - Assessment Level 2

hi...as per my experience nad some of the con applicants i knew here submitted the immunization records with all the necessary requirements to be able to have a slot for the earliest possible intake...however im not so sure if other records or documents necessary to become successful for the course application can be handed on a late date...hello! as per CON's contact person, next intake is on july. do you have any idea if we need to email them the immunisation records together with other required documents when you apply to them initially for BP or can the immunisation records be sent on a later date? tia =)
Yes AAON is cricos registered. For a 3 month program, i think we can either go for 456 or 575. The validity of both visas will depend on the length of the course, you have to exit before it expires. However, if you were able to apply for extension or convert it to like tourist visa or bridging visa (while waiting for conversion of your student to working given that your employer has nominated you), then you can extend your stay. Btw, i am for AAON April intake, but still waiting for visa approval. I hope i gave you some useful info.hi ailene313! you mean to say though AAON is under CRICOS, we can still opt for a 456 visa? how long is 456 visa processed? i'm choosing between AAON and CON though, i wanted a 456 visa so i'm leaning towards CON. but if AAON and the 456 visa cann be a match, then i might think otherwise. are you for the june intake? :)
Thank you cummulus. All i can do now is pray. We have the same case as ychelle. According to online status of my visa application, medical results were already received last March 23. I did my medicals last march 17, so processing was pretty fast. I'm waiting for further notice from my case officer. I will keep you posted about the progress of my visa application. Thanks again.hi ailene! just read this =) so 575 is also student visa? anyway, i'll be following your footsteps and hopefully, everything will turn out ok. and i really do hope that the issuance of visa is just within 14 days! crossing my fingers dear =) are you for the april intake of aaon? share the good news once you have your visa! goodluck dear =)
hi ey-em ive been to australia but under a student visa...i was able to study sa short course which was 7 monthsnin duration...however im still confused and quite furious because im still waitingnfor con's reply atm.. thanks fornthe info :)So you're planning to do the May intake under a tourist visa? You must at least be sure that you get a 2-month tourist visa. The last time my mother went to Australia, she only got a 1 month tourist visa. I think you have better chances of getting a longer duration if you had been visiting Australia before. But then again, I'm not so sure on this.
