Thanks! I didn't want to give up my palm (and didnt know 64 bit was an issue or vista for that matter when I bought my computer). I called palm and they told me to buy vista 32 bit, and have both if I had enough memory then basically to have a nice day. I am not a computer wiz, it sounded complicated or maybe I was overwhelmed from finals so I just bought a different cell phone. I think I might look into this now that the dust has settled and see if it might help.
Virtual PC is an application Free usually that gives you another installation of windows usually you run an install of win xp in 32 bit mode and it shares drivers so it is very good it will run most everything but I just really dont like to use it if I dont have to.

Also I was able to get the support number from the web for the nclex 4000 and basically they have a new exe file for the 64 bit version the thing is they have it in a predestined self extracting exe file so if you didnt put it where they think you did it wont work. exract it to your desktop and then replace your old exe wherever it is. done works great

Did it work for you? Let me know as I have issues running Saunders alternate format cd too.

When I called the support number, they basically told me it was something wrong with my computer if it ran OK on 32-bit and wouldn't run on my 64-bit. I'm sure it's just that the old executable won't work under the 64-bit operating system. I guess I'll try back tomorrow to see if I can get a tech support person that will send me the new exe.
If any of your who got the new 64-bit exe wouldn't mind forwarding it to me, that would make my life a lot easier. If not, I understand and I'll keep trying with support.
Thanks!
hello his247, they sent me a file that did not work and then I was assigned a case number. You may want to call and talk to another tech.

When I called about a problem, I couldn't get help until I called back and spoke to a different person.

I know this thread is old, but I ran into the same issue and I'm sure that someone else will experience the same. I almost gave my CD away. The patch is available online, no need to contact company: ftp://ftp.silverplatter.com/software/nclex/NCLEX-RN4000.exe
I installed the patch, then the software (again - for the 100th time) and it finally works. However, the recommendation is to install the software first, then install patch into same folder.

Can you please send me a link. I have it downloaded onto my computer but it says that I have a 64 and need a 32.
TennNS, I don't have a link for anything else. Are you running a 64-bit, or 32-bit pc?
I am running 64-bit, but NCLEX 4000 didn't work without the patch.

hi everyone,
Since the NCLEX 4000 software's contents (and rationales) are published a few years ago, would the information still be reliable to use for practice questions in todays new 2013 NCLEX test plan ?
