NCLEX this Friday!!!!!

Published

hi,

i just want to say that i'm off sitting the nclex exam this friday and i'm absolutley pooing it - that's all i can say without swearing!!

i'm now going through the 'have i studied/done enough? i used various study aids, in fact if anybody ever mentioned a study aid on here i read it!! well sort of! i've just been away for 3 days and not even looked at a book, i think i've burnt out from studying!

what's the least amount of time anyone's ever done it in? i've read a few threads in the nclex forum, and some people have sat there for the full 6 hours!!! please tell me this is not the norm! also, how quickly should i re-schedule for if i don't pass? (negative thinking i know!) also, do you receive any marks/feedback from the exam, i mean how will i know how badly i've done if i don't find out a mark?

any help much appreciated.....still bricking it

CA BRN actually mails out the results after about two and a half weeks. Mail system to the UK is much better than delivery in the Philippines. Expect to have your answer within three weeks or so, if not even sooner. Depends on when the letter gets on the plane.

Good Luck Janelola. I took mine last week and also felt horrible. As Scott said it is a abstract test and is designed for you to to miss 50%. So it is very normal to feel like you failed. I am sure you did fine.

Fingers crossed for you Jenelola. Pretty much everyone feels like they've failed but most of us passed. I have read that you do get feedback on the areas where you were weak so you can better focus next time. However, lets think positive there isn't going to be a next time now is there!?

Hi,

Thanks everyone for your kind words and encouragement. I've another question. I know that you only need to pass NCLEX once, but, does it have an expiry date, as in, you have to get to the USA and start practicing within a certain time after passing it? Do you know what I mean? What with the slow rate things are going at the moment I am now worried that it may be 3/4 years before I get there. Are 'they' likely to say that my exam pass (hopefully, eventually!) was too long ago?

Thanks

NCLEX doesn't have an expiry date. Once you pass, that's it for good :)

Thank Heaven for that huh?:lol2: The thought of having to take that thing again!!!! There's enough stress emigrating to the USA as it is!!!

I'm freaked out enough about the fact that I'm going to have to take another driving test when I get out there!! like most "experienced" drivers I know I have plenty of bad habits I'll have to be mindful of!!

Honestly dont worry re driving test, it was a piece of cake. Remember they use automatics here so you dont have to worry about clutch control or anything like that.

I am actually still applying for my Immigrant Visa, awaiting Packet 4. I passed NCLEX in June 2006 (CA BON). The notification did ask for my SSN that I don't have yet but it said in the letter:

"If you do not provide your SSN to the Board of Registered Nursing within 3 years from the date of this letter, your application will be considered abandoned and your file will be destroyed"

Hope this helps. Just sharing to everyone.

it is only your application that has to be done again, you do not have to re sit the NCLEX.

I think the only time you have to re sit the exam is if it is a long time since you took and and haven't nursed in that time

This might be a curious question but when you are talking about NCLEX how do you say it? Do you pronounce each letter or do you sort of turn it into a word.I always think of it as Nelex who is a character in Star Trek-Voyager!:lol2:

lol, very hard to describe how to say it but I do say NCLEX much better if I could say it aloud
