  1. congrats to you! i just passed a few weeks ago and i only had to sweat 2 days. that wait is a cruel thing indeed. now, kick back and plan your next step! ray
  2. I am very lucky Pagen. The local hospital held a day job for me in med-surg until I passed boards. I could make more in LTC, but I need the skills pratice as I am doing the Excelsior RN thing. I have only been on the floor 2 days. Boy, do I have a lot to learn. I read this observationon another post: "Nursing School is over. Now the REAL education begins." I can now say I agree totally! I also agree with your last post RE study groups. I have had to kick a few people out of mine if they couldn't stay focused and wandered off topic too much. Ray
  3. Just a bit of friendly advice from someone an LPN who graduated from a very difficult school, if you have not found you're study buddies yet, FIND THEM! I would not have graduated with my friends pulling me through during my low points, and I pulled many friends through when they had trouble. :yeahthat: Also, try not to get behind. Cramming does not work well in Nursing School. Ray, LPN, Licensed for 1 week
  4. Hi, I am Ray an old man of 48 that passed boards (LPN) last week and will be working med-surg in a small hospital in NC. I am also getting ready to do the Excelsior ADN course. Good luck to us all! Ray
  5. Good Luck Janelola. I took mine last week and also felt horrible. As Scott said it is a abstract test and is designed for you to to miss 50%. So it is very normal to feel like you failed. I am sure you did fine. Ray in North Carolina USA. (Licensed Nurse for 2 whole days!)
  6. How about just sitting down with him and tell him you are not interested. Then, if he continues go through the chain of command. Make sure you document all of this.. Ray
  7. Chin up Heartanimal. Sometimes the Lord puts a few "curves" in the road of life. Try it again. I feel that you was pass on the next go round. I will be praying for you. Ray in NC
  8. Congrats to you!!! Now get some sleep! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  9. Took mine today and had 85 questions (LPN). This is pure torture. If they are going to test you so that you will get half wrong, the least they can do is score you instantly. Sorry, just venting... The clock ticks.... Ray
  10. First of all, keep your chin up! I am 49 and have found some things just take longer. Did you have the same instructor both times? Sometimes I don't "click" with certain instructors. I have also found to lower my course load when I have a tough class so that I can focus on one area. Have you tried study groups? They helped me. Worst case, go to another school just to get the A&P. Hang in there! You CAN do it. Ray
  11. White pants, white, top, white lab coat with the college name in teal. I feel like an icecream man.. At least I don't have to wear a hat like the ladies.
  12. Sometimes I yhink it's harder for those who are used to making 4.0 grades. Everyone I have spoken to tells me you will NOT ace the Nursing courses. We just had our first pharm exam and the highest grade was 78. I have had to learn not to beat myself on the grades. You WILL pass. Remember, that is the goal! Ray
