NCLEX this Friday!!!!!

hi,

i just want to say that i'm off sitting the nclex exam this friday and i'm absolutley pooing it - that's all i can say without swearing!!

i'm now going through the 'have i studied/done enough? i used various study aids, in fact if anybody ever mentioned a study aid on here i read it!! well sort of! i've just been away for 3 days and not even looked at a book, i think i've burnt out from studying!

what's the least amount of time anyone's ever done it in? i've read a few threads in the nclex forum, and some people have sat there for the full 6 hours!!! please tell me this is not the norm! also, how quickly should i re-schedule for if i don't pass? (negative thinking i know!) also, do you receive any marks/feedback from the exam, i mean how will i know how badly i've done if i don't find out a mark?

any help much appreciated.....still bricking it

you're allowed to take another exam after 45 days if you havent passed the first one.

Good luck! It sounds like you have done alot of preperation so I am sure you will do fine!

Sending lots of positive vibes your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck janelola! We'll all be thinking of you, most of us know exactly how you'll be feeling :icon_hug:

good luck Janelola, You will be fine, sounds like you have done plenty of prep just take thursday night off and try and relax. I was in a couple of hours no way was I in over 4 hours

First of all good luck.

Being such an abstract test, I don't think there can be many people who will think they have done enough studying for it. My advice is just to take your time, remember the order of prioritisation and "Maslow" every question. You may often be left with two correct answers; this is where the hierarchy of needs will come into play.

Numbers and time taking the test are totally irrelevant. My wife got out in 75, in about an hour, and her friend she was with got out in 265 with only a few minutes to spare...they both passed first time. I got out in 78 and thought I had failed, but fortunately I was wrong.

Remember, the questions will get harder with each one you get correct, so if some of them seem ridiculous (and there will be many things you are asked which you have not covered) it is a sign you are doing well. Just continue to apply the same nursing priorities to each question, and don't let it freak you.

On the other hand, if you are being asked "what is your favourite colour of scrubs?" you may need to take a breather.

A terrible test, but not an impossible one to pass.

Once again, good luck

Thanks everyone for your kind words and advice. I set off for London tomorrow in prep for Friday - exam at 8:30 am!!! How much more cruel can you get?

Nobody seemed to answer the question regarding any feedback after the exam if you don't pass - do you find out a mark or get any idea why you failed?

Thanks again!

Take that as a positive indication that most people probably passed first time out.

I would imagine, were you to fail, you would get notification from the governing body, along the lines of "bad luck, but you can apply again on this date". It's safe to say though, they will not tell you what questions you got wrong, and what the correct answers were.

Other than that, I dunno.

I did get something back regarding when and what areas I failed but don't worry about it

Hi, it's me!

Well, it's all over and I feel crap! CA BON does not participate in the quick reasults service so I'm gonna have to wait for one month to find out my fate!! I understand that I'm not allowed to divulge any NCLEX material (or I might be end up like 'Paris' and get myself thrown in jail), but I found the whole thing vague.

Thanks everyone again for advise and I'll keep ya posted!

CA BRN actually mails out the results after about two and a half weeks. Mail system to the UK is much better than delivery in the Philippines. Expect to have your answer within three weeks or so, if not even sooner. Depends on when the letter gets on the plane.
