Made Incredibly Easy Books

Published

i will be starting nursing school in the fall and i am wondering if the made incredibly easy books are any good. they have so many that i think would help me in the long to have, even if just for reference for tests.

did you buy any and which ones helped you the most. i am really looking into the charting and assessment books. i already bought the fundamentals and math dosage but have not got them yet.

Specializes in Pediatrics Only.

Well worth it, in my opinion.

I still have a few of them that I keep today.

The EKG/ECG one, med surg, and a few others.

The dosage calc one is how I finally understood the math behind figuring out the calculations. I was struggling greatly with it until I got that book.

My new favorite is the Pathophysiology one...

I also have Med-Surg, Fluids and Electrolytes (excellent, btw), Assessment, Nursing Procedures, and NCLEX-RN review. I think they're all worth the money. I use them to supplement my current studies. They're great books.

Specializes in Hemodialysis, Home Health.

Worth every penny !!! :)

Couldn't have gotten through it all without them!

Fluid & Electrolytes, and dosage calculations were my most used.

I think the dosage book will help me understand the math. I know that it is suppose to be basic math, but I am so bad in math.

What about any of the pocket guides, not just the easy set but others that you found helpful. I bought the Rnotes pocket guide(Davis I think) and just from flipping through it I think it was worth the money sent on it.

Thanks for the replies

My daughter used some of these books to study for the boards. She was quite pleased with the way they sum up the important points. I like them too. They are coming out with more and more of them so I guess you can page through them at the bookstore and pick out the ones you think you'll find most helpful.

YEP, definitely buy them.. I have the med-surg book extremely helpful. I also have the med surg Cd-rom

Love them: they break everything down into the basics, and I find that if I read them before I tackle the textbook, I understand the textbook a lot better.

OK, im was wondering if anyone buys the old editions? Is it the same material or is new stuff added..

I've never tried one but now I will. Thanks for the advice.

I have several of the older editions -- they're so much more affordable than the new ones... and one of them ("Pain Management") seems to be no longer available.

While I can't comment on the degree of change from edition to edition I can say that the older editions seem to be quite thorough and complete. And honestly, the fundamentals are pretty static - not completely, of course, but enough to make it "unworth" this poor student's money to pay the premium for the latest editions.

My experience is that in most cases, edition changes are driven by more by publishers' desires to sell new books than by the need to update information.

For the record, I own:

Fluids & Electrolytes

ECG Interpretation

Pathophysiology

Pain Management

Health Assessment (Visual)

Other series from which I own books that I've found to be excellent and very helpful are:

Nurse's 5-Minute Clinical Consult

Lippincott's Illustrated Reviews

McGraw-Hill's "Lange" series
