Lie on ur resume

Specializes in Family Nurse Practitioner.

I didn't have health care experience and neither did many of my LPN classmates. I'd suggest trying LTC as a good starting point. In my area they are always looking for LPNs and the pay is pretty good also. Good luck.

Specializes in Hospice/Palliative Nursing.
Lie on ur resume

Please don't stoop to that level! GEEZ

Specializes in med/surg.

Do not lie on your resume. Nurses rely on integrity to do their job. We ask patients to put their lives in our hands. We should be trustworthy people.

I would try starting in a NH. Then with some experience in the field you may find getting a hospital job a little easier.

Also, most colleges have a department that will help you write a resume. Not to lie on it but to phrase things in the best light. Take advantage of this if you can.

Good luck.

Retail job = Customer service + experience = Great people skills. Surely you've had to use your skills to calm down the more disgruntled customers. This is a great asset to have and should be mentioned in your resume.

You're obviously a self-starter whom is goal-orientated and a self-learner. These are more pluses to add to your resume. You took the time to get your IV and Phlebotomy training/certs. etc.

You have lots to put on your resume! The only thing is finding out how to do it. As nightnurse02 said, most schools will help you to write your resume.

if you can't get a job in florida, try another state. for example kaiser permanente is looking for lpn in md, georgia etc.

Improve on your English grammatical skills, and get a job at a nursing home. Good luck!

Yes... practice on your grammar. This is a HUGE turn off on any resume. Please have someone well versed in the English language scrutinize and edit your resume appropriately. I am astonished that you typed all of that with only one formal period. This is not meant as an attack against you, but it is to help you. Correct grammar on a resume is essential.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.
i will like to start my career as a nurse in some hospital or place where i can master my nursing skills
Since you are an LPN in the land of the perpetual elderly (Florida), you might need to start your career in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility. New grads in many areas cannot afford to be too picky regarding where they work, especially in this depressed economy.

There are beggars, and then there are choosers. When your income, career, and livelihood are at stake, you cannot be too proud to beg.

all these jobs require 1 -2 yrs experience or experience preferred. but you might want to improve your grammar skills as well as have an evaluation with a speech therapist to see if an accent might be interfering with your job search. good luck, it's a tough time to get a new job in this economy.

Specializes in psych. rehab nursing, float pool.

While your dream may be to start in a hospital, the reality is that you may have to start elsewhere. First jobs are starting points. Right now you simply need to start somewhere in which you can work as an LPN. There are jobs to be found. You may have to accept one that is part time or per diem. While that may not be perfect it is getting your foot in the door of nursing.

Good luck.
