Hi there,

I've just started my LPN program in a moderately populated town. The total cost for me was $13,500. (books, labs, uniforms....) (I didn't get any loans, saved over the years.....) Were your fees comparible? I feel like it was quite expensive for a 2 1/2 year program.

Side note, apparently we'll be taught to run IV lines.....something new added to the course i believe...

Hey Maggie,

Im going to go to western carolina university in the spring im going to get my BS in emergency medical technology/paramedic studies with an emphasis in pre-med, yes guys thats right im crossing over figured it was time to move on and become an MD

Have you been to WCU before? How did you decide on that program? Why did you pick WCU and not some place like UT Knoxville that has a medical school as well.

Best of luck to you!

The cost per unit at community colleges in California went from $15 - $18. Last I heard it might jump to $26 per unit. Thank God I qualified (barely) for the Fee Waver and didn't have to pay any of it.
Specializes in LTC/Behavioral/ Hospice.

It's about $7600 for the whole program. I'm taking it part time, though, so my costs are divided up over 2 years.

Specializes in LTC.

I went thru a hospital LPN program the tuition alone ws $1000. So I probably got through it for somewhere in the $2000-$2500 range. Thats in Virginia in 1994.

Hi,

In CT. - private LPN school 20 - 25,000 ( I believe it is now up to $25,000. I was lucky & applied a long time ago @ the 20000 rate:) )

@ new england tech. it's the evening 22 month program...and it is "super" full time.I don't know how you 12 monthers do it...but"good for you".

.....College, school, tuition......all expensive...

"It's not how much the program or any programs costs, it's how much you get out of it that counts."

Wow I find that expensive. I am attending BScN courses in Toronto and for each year its 7000, 4year program so total is 28,000!

I thought that was expensive....but now I think not.

Paid Norquest $3000 for tuition in 2000. Books and uniform another 1200. Total student loans were a bit under $10,000 and that covered everything including childcare, transportation and paid for the four semesters.

Why are you saying 2.5 years for an LPN in Alberta?

sorry, it is 2 years. the program is thru northern lakes college.:wink2:

Oh yea and it is 11 months! :D

Which is really not it considering we have to have fund raisers or pay for our grad ceremony. Plus transportation costs and day care for 3 kids. O my goodness, my head is spinning from all the dollar signs racing through my head. LOL

I still need money to help, but haven't had to much luck yet.
