Hi there,

I've just started my LPN program in a moderately populated town. The total cost for me was $13,500. (books, labs, uniforms....) (I didn't get any loans, saved over the years.....) Were your fees comparible? I feel like it was quite expensive for a 2 1/2 year program.

Side note, apparently we'll be taught to run IV lines.....something new added to the course i believe...

Wow - $13,000 - that is high. I attend a program through a community college in Sherman, Texas - about 50 miles north of Dallas, books and tuition is roughly $2,300 and the program is 10.5 months long - fall, spring and a 6 week summer semester. We will also be taught IV's in the spring semester.
Are you talking about Grayson County College??? I'm from Denison Texas!!! that's crazy!!!

anyway, I am about to pay $19,000.00 (canadian) for a one year LPN program (in vancouver). This includes everything, and it's through a private college.

At home, in texas, it is only as Jamie said, $2,300. So I feel the same way about expense. But you gotta do what you gotta do, right???

Are you doing your program thru Sprott-Shaw? If so, it's a great school. I did my medical assistant program thru them a few years ago when i was living in Victoria. If i weren't in northern alberta i'd apply. :chuckle I'm doing my program thru Northern Lakes College, so i guess $13000 isn't too bad.

Best of luck to you!

$700 bucks cash. 12 month progam. many many moons ago.

I paid roughly $16,000 for my LPN program. Its 13 months, it is a private college and its a fast track program. They also have a bridge program for LPN-RN. The $17,000 included books, uniforms, skills bag(Littman Stethoscope, IV start kits, etc for lab class) student nurse , NCLEX review classes and the NCLEX fee as well as background checks and of course the tuition.I couldn't be happier with my school though, I have awesome instructors who truly have a love for nursing, and each of them has their own little "baby" of nursing, so I feel that we get the maximum benefit, such as one teacher loving peds and one gero and another rehab, etc. I love school..its been a long time since I could honestly say that!:p

Yes, that seems very high, and 2 1/2 years seems like a VERY long time...theyre usually 12 months.

I paid $18,500 for a private college which was a 13 month LVN program in California. Our community college has a 3 year wait.

I went in West Virginia to a technical school it was about 4000.00 for 11 months of mon-fri 7:45-3:15 with only a week break for thanksgiving, christmas, and spring break and a few extra days every now and then. But they were the most cram packed 11 months in my life.

Holy crap!! I am supposed to start a program in Oct and the cost for it is $25,000!!! Now I am second guessing myself. 25 grand is a ton of money. Is it too much for an LPN program to be worthwhile in the long run??

hi there,

here in CT, private lpn school & almost $30,000 now ($25,000 when I was there)! 22 months for the schooling.

I'm not sure of your pay scale but, If you borrow that $25g it will cost about $100 a month on a gvt. loan.... Here in CT you make about $25-$30/hour as an LPN. hOpe this helps!
