Hello
I am not an lpn but am thinking about becoming one and i have researched salaries.
I have seen salaries as low as $12 an hour and as high as $18 an hour.
What is the average starting salary for A NEW lpn?
Just want to know if I will be able to pay off my student loan!
hey mumpet5, i work in palm desert...ive been working for a homecare agency here, they are super friendly and supportive:nuke:...while ive only had my LVN for alittle under 2years, they are by far the best agency ive worked for, i think...im going back for my RN and they have been extremely supportive and flexible with my schedule...they are called MAXIM Healthcare, and they are always looking for good nurses, ive already referred 2 girls from my school...if youre looking for something, you should call them first..they really are the best!!!
I am happy to say that I am a brand new liscensed nurse.I recently was liscensed in October and started my first job @ a nursing home/assisted living center in December. The starting rate offered was of 18.00/hr base pay plus evening/night differential.Per diem @ 22.00/hr. I would advise not to go for less than 19.00/hr least 19.50/hr.
I graduated in August and just started my very first job last week. I work 7-3 and make 25.10 an hour. I work in a pediatric rehab unit which is in a long term care facility. I love it so much so far. I live in new jersey
Thanks for the response...You make alot more up north than what i can find out around here...! Wish we were so lucky...I have only been told the starting rate from one hospital and it is $13.00...for new graduate..If anyone else out there from the eastern ky area could respond..it would be great! I was trying to find out before I go for interview tomorrow! LOL....Thanks again!
around my way (nyc) its $23/hr $25 with night differential+$20 for being charge nurse! this is the lowest i've seen for ny or the lowest i've been offered, some agencies here in nyc offer $25- $30 with experience of course but check out salary.com its really accurate, in fact my salary is higher than what salary.com projected, oh well, just my luck!!
My 1st LPN position paid $14 plus shift and weekend differential. I have over $13,000 in student loans and my payment is less than $70/month.I think the higher starting wages for LPNs are those that have worked for a facility as an aide before becoming an LPN. My mother-in-law has been an LPN for 20+ years and she's not up to $18/hr base yet.
I was just wondering, were those stafford loans or private loans that check your credit?

Does anyone know what the payrate is like in Mississippi for new LPNs? I've asked in that forum but I guess no one wants to tell. I'll grad. this summer and some of my classmates seem to think it's over 18/hr. I love MS but that seems a little high for around here.
