LPN grads STARTING PAY $/HR

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

i am just curious regards to the starting rate of pay for newly LPN grads upon hire in all and many different states here in the US. I am currently in mcallen, tx. but i plan to move around to different states to see where i like to work best so I would like to know the different rates of pay for different states.

I was just offered $19.70 at a LTC facility 7-3 shift; rotate weekends, in St. Petersburg, Fl

Hospitals are paying LPN's $17-21 (good luck finding a hospital that hires LPN's; there arent many around here anymore.)

$19.50 is great! I live in a rural area so pay is not as good. St Pete would be a bit of a drive for me. And hospitals around here rarely hire LPN's and only pay about $12.00 hr.--a real insult!

In Northern Cali, (the Bay Area) the nursing homes are starting with $25.00 to $26.00/hr. The one I work at are giving new grads $26/hr with benefits and experienced LVNs $28-$29. I also work registry that pays $35/hr. But of course, the cost of living is way too expensive out here. Check out our gas prices!

Does anyone know the going rate for NY-Long Island area?

In my area:

SNF/LTC- $15-20

ALF- $14-18

Corrections- $18-24

Hospital- One hospital uses LPNs, but only on certain floors and only 1 or 2 LPNs- $12

Doctor's Office- Pay seems to be a big secret for some reason, but I do know that one large cardiac practice starts at $15

Anyone know the starting wages in Louisiana?

As a new LPN in '83, I started out at $5.10 / hour.

Three years later, as I entered RN school, I'd worked my way up to LPN II and a whopping $5.35!!

Woohoo!

:D
