Two job offers....trying to make a decision

Help me rationalize and make a good decision please! Nurses LPN/LVN

I currently work 2 nights a week in the hospital. I've applied to transfer out of the hospital and into a doctors office within the same organization. I interviewed for 2 different positions, and have been offered both positions. I'm having a hard time deciding. The pay for both positions would be the exact same, since I already work for the organization, they won't drop my current pay rate.

Position 1 is in urology (I have 4 years previous urology experience). Interview was more informative, and toured the office and meet the staff. Large office of 8 providers and adding 3 more within the next year. Combination of LPNs and MAs working in the practice. I would have a specific provider to work with, but float to other providers as needed. Lots of patients, procedures, and definitely staying busy. 35-40 minutes from where I live. Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.

Position 2 is in family medicine (I have 2.5 years family medicine experience). Interview was first phone interview with detailed questions, then in-person panel interview with in-depth questions, toured the office and shadowed another staff member for about 1.5 hours. Smaller office of 3 providers. I would be the only full-time LPN, there is one part-time LPN and a couple of MAs. Also one RN supervisor. I would have a specific provider to work with, but may occasionally have to float to another practice in urgent staffing situations (very random). Slower paced. 5 minutes from where I live. 8am-5pm.

Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.

Take the job that is 5 minutes away from your house.

Specializes in Geriatrics, Dialysis.

Curious since it's been a couple of months since your post OP...which did you choose? My vote would also have been to take the job 5 minutes from home.
