i am just curious regards to the starting rate of pay for newly LPN grads upon hire in all and many different states here in the US. I am currently in mcallen, tx. but i plan to move around to different states to see where i like to work best so I would like to know the different rates of pay for different states.
It's a matter of supply and demand. Since hospital work involves more prestige, that's where many nurses want to be employed. Therefore, hospitals do not need to pay high salaries to attract nurses, especially LPNs. If no one believes me about the prestige aspect, think of it this way...have you ever seen a major television series or movie set entirely in a nursing home? Many films and TV shows have been set in hospitals, because hospitals are glorified and regarded as prestigious and exciting.why do hospitals pay lpns less than nursen homes
However, administrators have to offer attractive pay rates to get people to work in nursing homes and other types of LTCFs.
