LPN grads STARTING PAY $/HR

Published

i am just curious regards to the starting rate of pay for newly LPN grads upon hire in all and many different states here in the US. I am currently in mcallen, tx. but i plan to move around to different states to see where i like to work best so I would like to know the different rates of pay for different states.

missisippi, i work at a hospital in one of the more popular cities here, i started off 14.35, but i get 16.50 at night.

Here in arizona its between $19-26 an hour. I will be starting off between that. I guess the pay is pretty much the same all over.

Philadelphia PA. I work for an "internal agency" which means I go to one of about 10 facilities in the Nursing home network. Its nice because I punch in and out (NO TIME SLIPS !!) And the paperwork and procedures are the same. I also get the benefits of floating and not being tied down anywhere. $32.00/hr all shifts LPN $42.00/hr all shifts RN and on staff at these facilities is 24-28 depending on shift and years of experience.

I'm a CNA of 20 years and I'm finishing school in 12 days. The thing that worries me is that I'm at the top of the pay scale as a CNA so i don't think I'll see much of a pay increase unfortunately.

I am a new grad in Ohio and I just got my first job in LTC. They are starting me out at $15.50/hr and since i'm gonna work 3rd shift (6p-6a) I get a $1 an hour shift differential and I think either $1 or $2 an hour bonus on the weekends, full time, w/ benefits. I start sunday, wish me luck all! :)

how about oregon

I have a friend who works in Oregon for the state. She says the range there is $2420/mo to $3656/month (depending on the division of state government) which works out to be $14/hr to $21/hr. The LTC jobs are 18-22/hr but with the State she says the benefits are just superior. Here's a website: www.oregon.gov/DHS/jobs The new LPN would probably start low but with so much overtime to be had(due to call-ins), a new LPN could probably make a lot more than the starting salary. My friend does LOTS of OT(but she's at the top range) and makes 4300+/month. That is really good money for LPN!!!!

what about maryland?

does anyone know about hospitals in El Paso Tx area? God, I wish I never moved. I lived in NY and the lowest offer someone got in my class was $18 (I think westchester medical) and that was b/c they'll pay your ongoing tuition. I'm just hoping it's more than $13. What a rip if not

Starting rate here (LTC) in the Silicon Valley, CA is $25-$28. I just got hired for $28/hr but the job is terrible. Aside from med passing to 35 patients, you'll do the treatment, admissions and discharge. :o

well i can tell you this. about 4 years ago i went to oklahoma city and inquired at a agency about pay cause my husband and i were thinking about moving to ok. they were paying about 13/hr for agency at the time.

wow that sucks!

I have been the night shift supervisor at my last 2 jobs. This one I make $19.00 and hour, last one $17.59 an hour. What tends to happen to me is that I will take a night position even though I hate it, stating that I will do it untill a day shift position opens up, they will hire new nurses in from outside and give them day positions and leaving me on nights. When this happens 10-20 times while I am anxiously awaiting my promised dayshift position, I finally give my two weeks notice. Then they come back with a night supervisor offer. Mostly convincing me to do it with the flexible hours(basically work when I want as long as the job is done) and promising huge raises in three months that never materialize. When that happened, I just justified staying because it was good on a resume and good experience. Now, I know that I should never ever take a night shift if I don't want it because once they have it in their heads that they need you on night shift, they will never let you off.

Does anyone know the starting pay for LPN grads in or around the Birmingham, Alabama location?
