Hi everyone,
I have the feeling that those of us who are going to take our nclex in July should start to share our
ideas and views and at the same time encourage each other in any way we can.I
strongly believe that the earlier the better, and together we can make it in Jesus NAME.
STUDY,STUDY,STUDY. PRAY,PRAY,PRAY. We will be successful. For me I have been
changing my date because I am doing Kaplan online, LA Charity,Exam cram and
using Saunders as my ref. book. It's your turn to share your ideas. Thanks and
Welcome to this study group.
Seriously, I think I've spent more time studying in this last month than during the entire FOUR YEARS of school (not more than the time I spent writing papers, however). Can't wait until the 6th. Took Kaplan QTrainer 6 today, got a 72. Soooooo happy with that, and sooooo badly want this to be done!
Hi Momof3WannabeRN, That is a good score. I think you are ready for it.
GOODLUCK AND GOD'S FAVOR. I am still struggling to meet up,although
am taking mine on the 29th of july, pray for me too.
Highly recommend the La Charity book on prioritization and delegation (got it from Amazon). Really helpful to figure out delegation. What I have seen in practice during school is not done nationwide and that was really messing me up at first (ex. LPNs in my state can do IVs but in NCLEX world that is not the case). Also would recomend Lippincott's Alternate-Format Questions (also from Amazon ISBN: 13-978-160913-307-8). It has the dreaded SATA, host spots, drag and drop, etc. and it is divided by section (cardio/peds/OB). Found it helpful to have that many questions in one spot. Hope it helps! :)
Hello all!
I have to say, I've been lurking on this board for years and rarely posted. I feel as if I always gained a lot of knowledge from this board, but never gave anything back. We'll, I'm about to start! I take my nclex mid July and look forward to sharing my woes and dreams with the July NCLEX group!
I'm currently using the Kaplan book, NCLEX 4000 & ATI supplements. So far, I've completed 175 questions a day, for the past week & will continue until the 17th...maybe bump it up a notch the last week. Oh, yeah throw in a spin class or two!
Wishing you all a productive studying!
hi everyone!i'm taking the exam july 2nd and focusing on kaplan qts and qbank. about 200qs a day, content review from kaplan of areas i'm rusty on, and memorizing my weak areas (like meds, labs, developmental milestones, contact/airborne/droplet, endocrine, oncologic emergencies, and math conversions ... sheesh!
)
in my last semester we did cover to cover of saunders including all qs in the cd. so i really don't feel like re-doing those questions would help me much. i'm only going to use it as a supplement at this point.
boy, oh boy, am i nervous though ... seems like everyday it is harder and harder to fall asleep!
hi ackiepie,
it's like you are doing well in your studies, good job. you mentioned that you are doing math conversion,
which website or book are you using? i am seriously struggling in this area.thanks in advance.
Hello!
My school used Kee & Marshall's text, "Clinical calculations: With applications to general and specialty areas." As someone that has struggled with math for as long as I can remember, this text was EXTREMELY helpful.
Good luck, think positive and confident, and "push until you crown!" :rotfl:
Hi Everyone,
Can you believe that july is here already, waooo. If that's the case how is everyone doing so far?
For me the more closer it gets the more nervous i get,but whatever happens we will make it.
I wish all of us goodluck and feel free to share your experience with us if you have taken yours,
it will be well appreciated.Thanks.
Well, never posted in the July study group but I'm just coming back from taking Nclex. I had 75 questions. It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be. Got a lot of priority questions towards the end. My last 8-10 questions were priorities (had also more throughout the exam). Got 2 med maths, a few SATA and some meds maybe like 5-8 of them, most of which I didnt know.

hi all, I'm new here and still has to take the NCLEX-RN, I am registered in South Africa AND England, but have to do it here now, because I've gone and married an American! whoohoo!
Needless to say, the whole NCLEX thing makes my head spin!
There is so much that I do not know!
Can someone please tell me what the SATA is that so many people are talking about?
All of the best to all you July takers, may you all pass!
Hi All,
I will be taking mine July 28. Too be honest, I keep telling myself I will review 100 q/a day and I am lucky if I even look at content. I don't see the need to by 400 dollar review I find it to expensive and wondering if it is really worth it? Can anyone vouch for a good review? I did purchase the NCSBN online 5wk review and a few books. But tonight is the night I will start reviewing... I just have to make myself.
